How much Mc inside tech know-how would Alonso have in his pocket to take to next team ?

I think his leaving was pretty much inevitable. For whatever reason, the ruthlessness required of World Championship winning types found it impossible to cope with a team mate home-bred by the team they shared and every bit as quick.
Wow.
As I said before, it feels like a big relief to me although McLaren now have to beat him which is a task 200% more difficult that if he had stayed.
Can't help feeling this continuing pressure on McLaren could still scupper Hamilton's brilliance next year - Alfonso can now clearly get it off his chest whatever he retracted when he blew up at RD in Hungary, and to the Italian magistrate who's still interviewing of course. I wonder how much McLaren info he now takes with him? Did he leave his hard drive?
He can bury them by innuendo almost such is the FIA stance.

If Alonso is going to keep at the forefront of the field of drivers he has to secure a competitive seat, that leaves him with 3 options Ferrari, BMW, or Mclaren. I'm sure renault would welcome him back and i'm sure he will be very comfortable there, but there car is currently uncompetitive, it would be a disaster for him.

I think it would be excellent for Jenson to get the car he deserves but unfortunately like alot of people have said in the motoring media his time has passed.

I used to like Alonso, he's a great talent but he has shown what a complete spanner he is this year, stamping his feet like a little boy because he was getting beaten by an underdog, it was like the spanish armarda 2...

Maybe he can F**K off to Toyota and take Ralf Schumacher's place, or p*ss off to Torro Rosso and stop bothering the boys that wanna race...in the real world though he is blatently going back to Renault, but i would guess every team in F1 is after his services...maybe Ferrari will do a swap for Massa???

That would make an interesting 2008

Nice quiet civil Jenson to Mc. Wouldnt that be nice. Do what he's told, might even win once or twice but never get in the way of the Lewis Hamiltot's pedal car and the 08 World Champ. Pay him a fraction of the Alonso wedge too.

Ron-never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity-Dennis wouldnt do it though. Two drivers that got on? yer having a laugh.

Interesting everyone is looking within F1 for the Mclaren driver next year. Is therer anyone currently not in F1 who could do the job?

I seem to remember this time last year, after Montoya leaving there was talk of using either Hamilton or Gary Parfitt next year (ie 2007).

Could Parfitt (or someone else) join mclaren for next year?

When asked who would be alongside him next season, Hamilton said: "(Nico) Rosberg, (Adrian) Sutil or (Heikki) Kovalainen.

The BBC didn't give the whole quote, LH basically said 'I have no idea but I guess/hope it'd be...' one of those three.

Have a look on Autosport.

Which is precisely what he would say, regardless of the underlying reality.

Has Jenson ever produced a class overtake in his entire career? I can't think of any. Don't believe the boy has the balls to pass.

kovy hasn't got enough experience to partner lewis in mclaren, don't think it's a good idea to have two rookies challenging for the titles, despite having experienced testers for development.

still think it'll be nico - if they offer him the drive (and they should) is he really going to turn it down? he would be in arguable one of the best cars and would not have to play no.2

vettel has more chance than sutil i reckon (/hope, for sanity's sake)

Think he was responsible for some of the best racing this past season, not for positions of consequence but still some good stuff.

I often wonder if the close rivalry with Alonso was one of the factors that spurred Lewis on to being so successful in his first season. The change in team dynamic will be interesting and we may be in for some shocks...
