Well, it will mean they get free Toyota engines, and I guess that means they don't have to 'sell' Rosberg to McLaren, but surely there are stronger candidates for the seat, and I hope the mechanics get special leg protectors!

Not sure on this one - looked pretty average on debut and mid field in GP2 (is Frank loosing it?) or just money talking.

Toyota should just pack it in and through and buy 51% of Williams.

I just had a thought - has there been a son of a former F1 driver, or indeed any driver, who has gone on to be more successful than their father?

I can't think of one. I'll go have a coffee and ponder it a while.

Oh yes. Funny how he didn't immediately spring to mind. Ok, you can have the sweets for that.

Most likely Toyota saying "If you want our engines then you've got to have our driver".

Having lost Honda power when they tried to force Frank in to accepting a driver (ironically Kazuki's dad Satoru) in exchange for an engine deal for the 1988 season, this looks to me more like a decision taken to safeguard the future of the Williams team as a whole, rather than wanting to mount a serious challenge for the championships.

Leave Nico to score the points, and have Kazuki keep Toyota sweet.

I read somewhere that Williams got half price engines for having Nakajima as 3rd driver, but they would get free engines if they gave him the race seat

He didn't set the world on fire on his debut, but I thought he did a pretty solid job and qualified better than I'd expected. If I remember he also overtook someone in the race, on the track (shock, horror), which shows some promise.

He's no Rosberg, but he's a hell of a lot better than his father (thankfully hehe ).

Jenson Button? If you count one F1 race win as success....

Frank and Patrick don't want to sell though. That was the reason BMW left as they wanted to take over the team and Frank and Patrick weren't interested in selling.

Damon Hill won more races but less championships than his father.
