It's a rehash of a Daily Mail story, hence the "raid" in inverted comma's referenced from their piece and this piece opening with "On Thursday, the Daily Mail newspaper said a team of independent legal and technical experts had 'trawled through' McLaren's Woking headquarters over the last two days."

I apologise wholeheartedly for the offence I've obviously caused.

I should have titled this thread :

FIA Pop Into McLaren HQ For Tea And A Quick Shufty.

Excuse my ignorance, do they still race in F1 is that now banned on safety grounds? Or is the 2008 championship decided in an auction before the start of the season? Haven't watched F1 for a good few years because of all this cr@p.

I guarantee they will find something - simply because it suits some silly little agenda of Max's.. they will either find something and come down like a ton of bricks or they will find something and claim that its source is 'probably' Ferrari IP but they cannot prove it definetly, with a view to just cast a shadow over McLarens season again.....
So if they do find something and decide to act, how do they enforce a punishment as the 08 car wont have turned a wheel. So in effect they will ne punishing them for something they haven’t done yet?
This whole episode is becoming intolerable, especially now Renault are involved.

Exactly.
In fact, there may be a set of garages at the arse end of the pit lane with quite a few of those banners hanging on it.

On the principle that whoever the "independant" inspectors are they must have had access to Ferrari IP, a scenario could well be that having got the full Ferrari data they then go to McLaren and look at their car and spot a suspect item. Because they are not absolutely sure if it is similar to the Ferrari item they take the McLaren info and have to ask someone for a second opinion, and teh only people qualified to answer are ....... Ferrari. The McLaren idea may be better than the Ferrari one so Ferrari then think about what have seen and it influences their design process. The FIA then investigate the Ferrari car and find it to have McLaren IP and they ban them. cloud9 Sorry, I just got into dream mode again.

This is making the FIA and Max Mosley look like a bunch of xenophobic idiots.

Remember the arguments early this year when there were arguments about wether certain teams could be considered 'constructors' since the cars they were using were blatent cast offs from other teams , and yet the FIA declared that the teams could be considered constructors and designers of their own cars.

That was a total bullshit decision with totally obvious identical cars being raced and yet the FIA are going through McLaren with a fine toothcomb to seeif any scrap of 'Ferrari' genes can be found in the new McLaren even though they pretended not to notice Identical cars on the grid this year..

absolute and utter boocks and as with the so called constructors cars yet again in Ferraris favour.

Who else wants to boycott F1 next year...

See you at the BTCC instead where I will be interested to watch the new Seat Diesel..
