I can think of plenty far duller - typically one make series with single figure entries. FE has huge support, world class drivers, close racing and pretty sexy looking cars - but it seems to be compulsory for many to sneer at it . Yup , its soundtrack is muted but so what , most spec series cars sound pretty awful - F4 , Ginettas etc- and BTCC may be loud but it's a hideous noise.
I love the sound of a wailing 12 or bellowing smallblock V8 but motor sport is a broad church- I'd love to see racing back in Brum and whilst FE won't thrill like F3000 did I'd go and see it all right .
Quite - but we are petrol heads and the lazy culture is to be rude about electric cars (and round here - birmingham) and then high five each other electronically celebrating our machismo and wit. The mayor has suggested it will use the majority of the old circuit - which is a pity as it really doesn't show brum at its best - but without really extensive modification there isn't anywhere else I guess.
I'll certainly go.

If it's based on the original circuit it might be worth watching but I fear it'll be some dreadful mock up round a carpark somewhere round the NEC/Genting arena
It won't be anywhere near the NEC or in a car park somewhere. Formula E is all about racing in city centres. Santiago and Paris being the 2 best examples of it this year. Zurich still to come will be a feat of genius if they manage to pull it off (you cannot take over a public space in Zurich for more than 8 days).
It's a new championship, its a young company, they will get things wrong, learn from the mistakes and improve. F1 is still getting things wrong and they have decades of experience.
A big bump here, does anyone have any photos or videos from the Birmingham Superprix?
Please get in touch with me or on the Birmingham Superprix Project Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/thebirminghamsuperprix
I would like to hear from you about your own experiences, stories, photos, videos or if you know anyone who went, marshalled or even raced at the Birmingham Superprix!
Thank you.

I marshalled all the Superprix in one capacity or another. Highlights included
Bringing in the Team transporters from their holding point at the NEC car parks under a Police motorbike escort M42/M6/Aston Expressway to Monaco House in 15 minutes on a Saturday morning !
Being able to get a pint at the Pub connected to the Wholesale Market at 7:00 o'clock in the morning
Stopping at a Hotel on the Hagley Road where the Chef went home at 8:00pm (some of the guys who stopped there actually lived closer to the Circuit than where the Hotel was)
Hearing that Jasper Carrots Jag had been clamped in the Market (apparently he was not amused)
Can't remember the years but when we had a stoppage (F3000) the FIA rule was a minimum of about half hour before a restart. The following year when there was another stoppage they had cahnged the rule and the restart could be as soon as possible. Unfortunately ITV hadn't been told and based on the previous years experience had switched to a Polish cartoon or something and Gary Newbon (Central TV head of sport) was doing his nut with the Clerk of the Course trying to get the restart delayed.
There must be more I've forgotten about

I’ll upload a few when I’m back from Scotland however my favourite (sorry I had to knock it from my Facebook profile pics) is me and my brother with James Hunt. The first real reason I fell in love with racing Please get in touch with me or on the Birmingham Superprix Project Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/thebirminghamsuperprix

Ho ho - but for those of us who were far too common to get corporate hospitality the Superprix offered unrivalled proximity to race cars. At one point , I was able to lean against an Armco support and feel it move as the wheels of F3000 Marches etc literally grazed the Armco itself , 3 feet away .You could literally look into the drivers' eyes . Wonderful event - and bloody NOISY

Awesome shots, that Computervision livery... Shame the race hasn't been revived yet, even if it was run as a historic event for classic cars/stuff that raced 'in period'.
at those above posting that Formula E should run there - would be great hearing 20-odd vacuum cleaners going around the track, should do the trick for anyone suffering insomnia
