Tuscan Race Rescheduled!

2003 Tuscan Challenge to be decided at 5:10pm on Saturday afternoon in front of empty grandstands!

Lee Caroline currently leads the Tuscan Challenge going into the Brands Hatch round and after some late changes to the timetable it looks like he could take the crown in front of an empty circuit.

Thousands of TVR owners are expected at the circuit on the Sunday to watch the Tuscans and GTs, but Saturday's qualifying sessions normally only attract the die hard enthusiasts.

Caroline to take crown in silence?

Now, much to the annoyance of many fans and sponsors, the sprint race has been moved from the main event on Sunday to 5:10 on Saturday afternoon. Caroline needs only to finish the race to secure the title - and with the current scheduling he'll be doing it in front of empty grandstands and people packing up for the day. It's a sad end to a fantastic season of racing.

Ted, couldn't connect via the "comment" icon, but It could be a problem my end, worth a check though.

Belive me, we are all trying hard to get these race times back to the way they were, but don't hold your breath, for It's probably to late to get them to change, even if they wanted to, I guess we just have to live with it!! Shame for Lee though, he's one of the best drivers that the Tuscan series has seen, his skill, bravery, style, and brilliant car control should have been presented for all to see as he won his title, bar any unforseen moments, and I'm sure all the David Mason fans would have loved to see him give Lee a run for his money.

Still, I guess you can all come down late on saturday, It won't be difficult to park, or even get in, and there will be plenty of places to watch from, because........

there will be no one Fg there

Always....yes.....it's always exciting......

but then....so is the rest of the field.....

and now we are going to miss it because the TVR AGM is on on the Saturday afternoon, followed by an RO's meet....all arranged specifically around the Challenge and GT racing,
so that's me, for one, out of the spectator area!!!!!!

You'll all have to put on an extra special finale for us all on Sunday Tuscan 29....

The resheduling @ this stage is...well...pants...& that's putting it mildly !!!

I wasn't going to be there...but still I understand the thoughts of others & totally support them in their opinions.

Why o why o why !?!?

No. 29 & I only today discussed something that non factory teams would have been thinking of...& now that has totally been blown out of the water !!!

Yes....the above may only affect money...but to the middle of & back of the field...this may make the difference to whether a driver feels able to compete the following year...nothing to do with TVR...but the race organisers I dare say have not even thought of the implications.

Good luck to all those involved...hope to sse u next year.

This bad news for all of us who have made plans. It seems once again this country is supporting an import over British products. I agree with all the previous statements that it is pointless badgering John Reid because it is not his fault. I agree with YP we have to make the most of a bad deal. Perhaps the BRDC/BMP/Octogan could refund the entry money for the inconvenience they have caused.

The not insignificant sum I have spent on hospitality with octogen was based on the sunday event including Tuscan challenge. I am totally disgusted with the apparent disreguard shown for fans and sponsers.
Pi** up in brewary springs to mind.

The only positive element to this is should Lee's car have a problem in the first race and not finish for any reason there is all night to work on the car to get things sorted for the main race.

I'll tell you what....if Lee's car did have problems in race 1 and didn't finish the first race....it would make race 2 THE most exciting finish to a season..

However, If Lee does finish and takes the Championship...I just hope some spectators are there to cheer congratulations.

I may be a David Mason fan, but lee has worked hard for the Championship and will deserve it if he wins.

Just got back from a town centre run, where I bought some cheap £2.50 watches. I will now send one to each of the parties involved in this recent decision with a little note along the lines of:

"just to help you get the Tuscan times right in future"

It all sounds very similar to the mess they made of the scedule for the Brit GT finale last year.

I'll be hanging on for the race with son, weekend guest and a few of the DSC crew - irritating though

Dont think i will go on Sunday now?? Kinda of makes the day seeing the Tuscans and then the GT's but just for the GT's i dunno.
Not too much interested in the other Races even though i would watch them if i was there.
Bitterly disappointing ending to a top season.
I only went to Silverstone and Rockingham ( which where great) and well dont know about Brands now, but What the Firk are they thinking about??

Saturday and Sunday races, so please still come down.

I've completely rebuilt No6's bodywork specially!

Hmm, that last sentence is a bit inviting for 29 to comment about 'the force', tyre walls and all sorts of other twaddle
