Sorry Jon, 8 "working" days before I'm out of a job so even if there were much on, which there isn't, my heart wouldn't be in it. That Autosport forum was like shooting fish in a barrel though, so best you just look there, I've some photos I could scan in of my dads this weekend. Would that show a bit more effort and willingness?
Regards
Iain
Sorry to hear about the job situation mate. Regards
Iain
I've watched this video several times - click on this link.. The Seac Pages and select the top video. It's 17 minutes long but WELL worth the wait. Some stunning footage of the yellow SEAC racer testing and racing at Oulton.
The site was made by cuneus who is a PH'er.
Here's some brilliant on board footage from 1973...
Frank Gardner in a 550bhp Chevy Camaro
The circuit has hardly changed, just a bit of armco and advertising that has gone/been replaced.

...and a couple of chicanes added. Kinckerbrook must of been proper balls out terrifying at full chat back in the day.
Is it my imagination or does the film shown a rise then fall in the road between the exit of Cascades and the Island kink that isn't there now? (ETA approx 1min 18)

Interesting point Iain. How are ya by the way !?
I noticed the rise on the straight before Island too. It seems exagerated. I reckon there must have been some flattening done at Oulton over the years, probably during one of the resurfacings.
Interesting to see the building on the right just after the bridge.
From Island all through to Knickerbrook was pretty well flat out straight. Awesome. Unforunately I witnessed Paul Warwicks fatal crash there which was the signal to alter Knickerbrook to how it is now.

Sorry for the thread resurrection, its taken a while to locate these and get them scanned. They are all taken at Oulton Park in the early 1960's.
Should have some more in a few weeks, just a couple of thousand slides to go through first...
Enjoy
The Avenue into Cascades (no date)
The top of Clay Hill from the observation tower (no date)
Into Druids from the observation tower (no date) note the water tower on the right!
Graham Hill April 1961
Hill's winning E-Type April 1961
As raced by Hill April 1961
Jack Brabham, Oulton's paddock September 1960
LACCC Economy Run October 1961. Top of Deer Leap with Lodge corner in the background.
Stirling Moss and Bruce McLaren Oulton's paddock September 1960, no thats not me running after them!
The Veyron of its day? Great number plate though! (no date)

Amazing photos, thanks loads for sharing. Awesome seeing such a candid shot of Jack Brabham while he was reigning World Champion.
I went through some of my dad's from the late 1980s to 1990s at the weekend. I was feeling reminiscent after the Gold Cup. Nothing quite as spectacular as the above needless to say!

Absoulutely lovely photo's - perfect atmosphere - have you tried to submit them to Motor Sport magazine's "I Was There" feature?Oh, and that's Innes Ireland walking with Stirling, I believe... (anorak mode off)

Yeah I had the same debate, they both look very similar!. In hindsight since your post the guy walking with Stirling is too old to be Bruce (in 1960) Innes was 7 years older than him. Thanks for confirming it for me!

Hello again !
A few images from a book I borrowed from the library recently. Sorry they are so big.
(If anyone can make them smaller, please feel free and I'll delete this original post if required)
Jim Clark
BRM Chief Engineer Tony Rudd (left), Jackie Stewart and Mike Spence
Jochen Rindt
John Surtees TS7 F1 car at the start (Gold Cup 1970)
Jackie Oliver
Frank Gardner being interviewed after the 1970 Gold Cup..
Frank Gardner at work in a Ford Boss 302 Mustang
1968 Tourist Trophy race - Lola T70's, Ford GT40's, Chevron B8's, Lotus Europas etc etc
Amazing picture - Top of clay hill. Note the skeleton of the bridge that's still there today and the unbelievably crazy trackside building crammed with spectators on the roof. Fabulous
Peter Sutcliffe leads Tony Deane heading towards Clay Hill
Lola leads Ferraris
Denny Hulme gets the ecstacy feeling
James Hunt (R.I.P legend) leads past the pits in glorious Whit Monday sunshine, 1970
Ian Mitchell goes ploughing into Island Bend - Ended up OK
Jock Russell, Ian Mitchell and Robs Lamplough thunder through Druids
Carlos Avallones Lola T140 burns in the distance as Mike Walker pulls Peter Gethin and Mike Hailwood along in his slipstream. Avallone was not seriously hurt.
Formula 3's slither through Deer Leap
Bev Bond finishing just a car length infront of Hunt
Start of Formule Libre race. I just love the Senior Service stand.
John Scott-Davies' E-type lies upside down in an old swamp on the outside of Knicker Brook. He didn't die. In fact, he got out and jumped into a Lotus 19 for the following Formule Libre race. That's him passing his previous wreck !!
EM Dean clips the bank on the inside of Lodge and rolls his then vintage racer, which spits him to the floor like a bad sweet.
The car continues to roll with Dean sliding down the track next to it. Amazingly, cuts and bruises were as bad as it got for this driver.
