Screenshots from the film "Grand Prix"
and another picture....
the battered old caravan is still there
There is a sad story (non racing) related to this place when in 1958 a 23 year old local woman was killed in dense fog when crossing the road. There is a cross where her body was found.

More or less on topic at the moment ...
sorry to say I cannot show a photo from this month's BRDC Member's house mag.
It belongs to LAT Photographic on 0208 251 3032.
It's one of the most iconic shots I've seen, right up there with Clark in the Zagato Aston out the back at Goodwood ...
It's a B&W shot of Rodriguez in the winning Gulf 917 Porsche of the May 1971 1000 ks of Spa, International Championships for Makes (World Sports car championship another name.)
It gets better.
What's remarkable is that the 917 is pictured at the apex at the bottom of Eau Rouge so the ride heights squashed already from g-forces as it hits the base of the hill.
Mesmeric Rodriguez has it hard on opposite lock, boot well in
leaving black tyre markes clearly on the road as he properly powerslides at what 140mph+ ...
Now, this is the old Spa circuit ... and the average speed of this winning car for the entire 1000ks including stops, is nearly 155 mph, with the fastest lap at over 162 mph ... average speeds.
I think there are pictures of Siffert and Rodriguez banging doors into Eau Rouge at the wet start of the race earlier in this thread, but I'd not seen any so dramatic as this shot later in the race.
While your at it, take a look at www.brdcprints.co.uk; quite interesting stuff for sale.

Not sure why you can't show it, I have a whole website of images I have scanned from LAT with approval.
