Here's a slightly more serious one for you all.
In heat 1 of the British Empire Trophy at Oulton Park in 1954, Sir Stirling drove a special owned by Lionel Leonard, with a MG engine and specially commissioned bodywork by Cooper in the style of a 166 Barchetta.
This one:
LOY 501
Subsequently, this car was sold to Cliff Davis who re-built it around a Tojeiro chassis. Shortly after, AC Cars bought the chassis and body for the basis for the AC Ace. Which, of course, became this beastie:

How often do you find a driver sporting the number zero on his car? Damon Hill did it in 93 and 94 (because the champions who would have been his team mates - Mansell then Prost - had done a runner). But the only other case I'm aware of was his Dad Graham, who had number 00 on his Rover-BRM jet-powered car at the 1963 Le Mans.

Brabham lady racer Giovanna Amati was kidnapped as a child and held for ransom.
Damon Hill had Giovanna Amati's lack of racing acumen to thank for his intro to F1: it was her inability to qualify for the first 3 races of the 92 season that caused her to be sacked by the Brabham team (then in its death throes), being replaced by one Hill, D, esquire.Edited by Tony2or4 on Thursday 29th July 20:02

As far as I can remember #0 in F1 has only been used in 1993 and 1994, the only other time I've heard of it being used is by David Reutimann in NASCAR with the #00 car.PabloTeK said:

When Nigel Mansell joined McLaren in 95 he found he was too tall for their cockpit, so they had to completely redesign it around him, at great expense - then he was offski after 2 or 3 races.
Similarly in '94 when Mansell came back to Williams Renault, the muttering as they tried to get the car to fit him was they would be better off using an Espace as the starting point than an FW16.Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
