It was the other way around. Fittipaldi originally raced the CS, who were a registered constructor. When they retired, tax reasons I think, Fittipaldi took over and became a constructor. As in most racing stories it all becomes very convoluted.

In the mid 70s Ray Jessop and Peter Thorp put together the Token which became the Safir. They did a few F1 races, but it all ended when Ray sadly died. He was a brilliant aerodynamicist who had worked for Brabham, but he carried all the info in his head, so all the secrets went with him.
Should bring back Can-Am for Europe - no bloody air restrictor crap though....F1 should be good this year - but almost on too much - really not that stressed out about missing one this season if things clash - they are all on stupid tight mickey mouse modern sanitised tracks - mind you spare is back...
