Nice car actually, the one on the McLaren site looks a lot better than the one on here IMO (better resolution helps).
It's the same image doofus!

I *personally* thought that the images in this topic make the car look a little odd because of the lower resolution and artifacting, looks a bit more defined in McLaren's photo.

With regards to the Fin-spoiler, F1 teams have been using similar designs for the last few years as i belive its just a simple engine cover that can be changed during the year as Redbull did BUT Mclarens looks totally different - more fixed??

Everybody seems to like the longer wheelbase proportion of the 2010 cars!
I not sure if they will shorten it as the technology comes along with the cars this season, i imagine they have had issues squeezing in all that fuel!

Jenson was saying on twitter his new helmet design looks amazing (well he would wouldn't he?) Just wondered if anyone has seen it as yet?

I'm not going to cruise around the internet looking for pictures of Jenson's helmet.

I'm not sure if I like the Mclaren's fin or not. Sure it's better than the others Ive seen but thats not saying much! I'd prefer it if the engine cover could just be more of a straight line from the roll hoop to the gearbox, like it used to be.

The side profile looks much better proportioned than last year. Seeing both cars side by side, it looks like the designer of the 2009 car realised he was running out of paper and had to squeeze the back end in to fit!!

McLaren have copied part of red bulls race winning car and incorporated it into their design including using the extended engine cover to get rid exhaust gasses.. there is no problem with but makes you sound at hypocrite

Another raised nose design. Now I don't for a second think they are all going down that route just because red bull did. They must have evaluated raised vs low nose and chosen it for a reason.

So what is that reason anybody? My brain says reduced drag/downforce from the shape of the nose to improve fuel economy. But I know as much about this as I do about golf bats.

Changed rules on the nose cone design I guess means that this is the optimised design for this year.

It's hardly copying Red Bull if it happens to be the best aero package though.

I would expect it's more to do with modifying the air flow to the rear of the car.
