Was a bit fiesty all weekend, with him earning 3 penalty points in the first race on the Saturday.

Makes you wonder if the guest driver is as good an idea as it appears. Using a proper race driver makes some sense from other disciplines but Newey for all his ability is not first and foremost a race driver or upcoming looking to get noticed.
He has passed his test, and has loads of track experience, he is as entitled to race as anyone else. Looks like a racing incident to me, happens at all levels to all drivers at one time or another. If it was a race of high powered single seaters and he looked out of his depth maybe you'd have a point, but its only Ginettas.

The clip's on James Allen's website - he's barely mentioned. The commentators are more concerned with the other driver - I guess maybe they didn't realise AN was still in the car ...
Speedy recovery and best wishes to all concerned.

Watched the crash live on telly and i did think it was a bit silly of Newey to have a half spin (ok, that wasnt his fault) but then just release the brakes and roll backwards right out into the middle of the track infront of the rest of the grid travelling at warp factor 9.........

He did make the classic mistake or rolling backwards after a spin. You see it in karting all the time, but it's a bit surprising to see it at this level. He's not a novice, so should really know to be straight on the middle pedal if he's tipped into a spin. But hey ho, it's all very well saying that, but in the heat of the moment it can be a different matter! Glad he's ok though, and could have been a lot worse!

Poor form of Ginetta to make it sound like an advert.
Why? It's true!

Tomlinson has said it before. Here's some more proof about strength of G50.

How would you feel being this G50 driver?

I hope Adrian is OK and fully recovered soon.
Without him, F1 would be a bunch of cars all doing the same speed.
Unlike how it is now with most the cars the same and the AN car winning when it's not braking down.

Sorry, I meant 'Ginetta' as a marque - and was thinking more of the fates that befell LNT at LM24 2009; Beechdean Mansell at LM24 2010 etc etc, and now this. Not a statistically accurate statement, I grant you biggrin

He is braking as he rolls backwards. The front wheels are locked.

On the other hand, Quifel ASM won LMP2 in a Ginetta-Zytek last year, they are the reigning European GT4 Champipons, the G50Z is dominating in Asia, and the car also won in Britcar & BGT last year. G40 & G50 grids are good, the Ginetta Challenge is still going strong, and the marque has new race series across Europe. wink

and there is still a bald patch of ground where the car stopped on the inside of Cascades.
