Only One TVR At Le Mans?!!!
Discussion
Granted, But pinning all you hopes on one car may be a little hard on the crew if a little thing goes wrong.
Anyway, never mind that.
I remember CDL running Steve Hyde and Ian Flux in the TVR Tuscan challenge!
the team's come along way, and they've worked their way up.
A Synergy Motorsport bespoke LMP1 car at Le Mans 2010???
Well Done Bert, you deserve the best luck in the world in France in June.
Paul.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your support, and the vote of confidence, after a couple of days to think about it,
we now know what it takes to race against the best car's in the world, when you look at what we spent and what some ngt teams are spending 2mill$ Porsche and the Corvette team 9mil$,we dont need that sort of money all we need now is everybody to get behind the project from sponsors to supporters and drivers, that will help us compete against the top team's. What it needs now is sponsorship and anybody can help us from blue chips to any British companys or personal investors who want's to see a British car with a British Team take on the best, and beat them, and I now feel sure we can do that, so Guys if you want to see it succeed every body can help,I want to here your suggestions on how to raise the funds to make us a top team who can compete against the likes of Alex job, frisinger and jmb.
we have the best supporters and I know the team can do it, would you like to see it happen,
what ever your idea on fund rasing large or small you can drop me a line at,

Re sponsorship, Burt I will ask again at work, tried last year for Dewalt but it was too late and to be honest not a lot of interet in motorsport.
Out of interest at last years event there was very limited TVR merchandise to be had, something to do with not buying a licence .
I'm sure if you were to get some specific LE Mans 2004/TVR/CDL/Synergy stuff together early enough you could sell it before we went saving on the merchadising licence. I would imagine its small beer to the whole budget but would certainly go some way to help.
If you looked at how much Bently et al were selling a licence could be worth a punt IMHO.
A very large proprtion of the crowd are Brits and will support a Brit team come-what-may, with no Bently to cheer on it might take off.

Hi Bert.
Could you not have a donations account set up?
Let say there are 1000 TVRs there this year as reportedly there were last year.
Say there are two people a car and each person donates as little as £10?
£20k must help the cause!
There are enough people 'officially' booked via the car club to run a piece in the
Sprint Magazine I would have thought?
So come on guys and gals, let's all dig deep for 'our' team, maybe an extra
incentive if one were needed were some randomly drawn pit passes?
Get the merchandise up for Le Mans and we'll buy that too, financial and
visual support in one hit!
If I can do anything, let me know.
Regards
Graham

Good ideas, every little bit will help.
I would be prepared to put in £100 donation and purchase T Shirts / Polo's
Anybody else?
The thought of that fantastic looking car in front of the Porkers would be worth it.
Following Graham's theme, what about the TVR Le Mans 1000 club. 1000 supporters contributing £100 each, I'm sure Bert can think of some way of recognition special 1000 members clothing, meet the team event prior to Le Mans with a BBQ etc…
How about it Bert and fellow enthusiast, I would help out if required Bert.

Fab idea and we're definately up for that.
If it would help...I am more than happy to offer another pair of hands.
We still have time to organise a couple of events/BBQ's/ merchandise before Le Mans.
....we could start at Donnington this week end!

I think this is a great idea! I know that "Yellowperil" has some CDL stuff and can probhably sort some Chamberlain-Synergy lines. Chris Stockton is at Donington this weekend and anyone is welcome to come and talk to him about Sebring or Le Mans. I am sure Bert would welcome any help because the Porsche and Ferrari teams have massive budgets.

Perhaps Ted could set something up here.

James
Well done for getting a car to the end of the race, CDL/Chamberlain et al. It is a bloody tough circuit and race - harder than Le Mans in almost every regard.
Don't want to put too much of a dampener on things, but there's still a long, long way to go before thoughts of beating the likes of Job and (particularly) Freisinger should be allowed to surface. Freisinger won the Spa 24 hours outright last year - ahead of all the GTS cars...
I wish the team luck at Le Mans, though, of course.

Ahonen, are you working on the Eclipse car this weekend?
James
Absolutely James. I've a feeling it's going to be bloody hard for us this year - there are some teams out there with pots and pots of cash, while we'll be running a pretty tight ship, as usual.
We're going to be flat out, of course, but for this weekend we're just hoping for reliability and a couple of decent results, as pre-season testing has not gone entirely to plan due to the weather and minor niggles. After Donington we'll bolt on some development parts and get stuck in.
Mind you, pre-season testing last year wasn't too brilliant, but things soon picked up...
Steve @ Eclipse.

I have moved this subject to the Le Mans forum, so as to avoid cluttering the GT racing area.
I'm up for helping out raise any additional funds for the TVR Le Mans effort, sure things will not be easy for the team, but I'm sure Bert and team given the right support will give a good showing at Le Mans.
I will be at Donington this weekend (both days)and would be happy to meet up with some like minded supporters to discuss a way of helping.
Don't know the fancy way of making the move any help please Ted

So, if there is only one TVR down for a place, which driving team will get the place, Amanda Stretton's car, or the other one? I thought she was pretty keen to see an "all girl" squad racing, but (and not wanting to appear sexist) would it now be the case that the three quickest drivers (regardless of sex) be chosen for seats in the remaining car?
BTW, I'd buy a T-shirt/hat etc if it had a nice TVR T400R logo on it.....
