Weather for Croft

I'm currently 'oop North - tested at Croft yesterday and working in Leeds today.
Weather forecast remains good for the weekend. Sunny both days, 15 degrees C on Sat and 17 on Sunday.
Testing was good - 7 x 15 minute sessions, so plenty of time to try different things.
Lee Caroline and Richard Hay were both doing 1.24's on old tyres - Lee seems to have got the set up right again so there should be a great battle between them.
I was quite happy with low 1.27's - never been there before, so encouraged. Would have been 8th on last year's grid with my best time. Which is nice
I had a big spin just before Sunny In (can't remember the name of the right kink before then). I took it flat in 4th on my second lap out - the tyres weren't up to temperature and the car was still out of shape when I had no option but to hit the brakes, and round we went
Fortunately I span in the direction of travel and emerged facing forwards onto an escape road - and no-one hit me (I was first on track, so everyone was behind me at that stage). Phew. I only wrecked a tyre or two....
The bad news for TVR people is that it is our turn to get the crappiest position in the paddock. The TVR paddock is all the way down the old runway, at the far end. On broken up concrete, with no water or power hook ups. As you come into the circuit hang a right and keep going - we're down there somewhere.
The girls' cars are down there too, but nearer the circuit. (Rich - shall we drop the girls' car thing now? Or shall we settle it with a race - you can pit your manly Ginetta against my effeminate Tuscan - the winner gets to call the other a big girl's blouse for the rest of the year
)
As for things to hit - the walls seem quite close to the track and it is a little daunting at first, but if your lines are tidy then they seem further away. I was surprised at how twisty the track is - I'd got the impression from the circuit map that it would be more sweeping. Great fun though, once you've learnt it!
Tea and coffee as usual available for PHers in the Insane Racing awning. We'd appreciate it if you could bring your own cup of water though, as its a sodding long way to the tap when the tea urn runs dry!

May have to borrow an engine or two to get down to 1:27 on the lap. Fresh from my Silverston experiences - glad to hear that the walls are nice and close

I shall make my way down from our nice pitch down the old runway to say hi tomorrow - provided we don't have yet more rebuilding to do

Thanks for the tip on the power and water. I'll just go and pack some candles and more water! (Mrs Hui wrote that!!)

Many thanks for the offer though - I'm all for getting quicker between qualifying and the race, so I'm sure that a bit of swaying and hand waving over a cup of tea wouldn't go amis
