I'm working in Inverness on the 24th, I'm never up that direction so I've taken the week off work until the following Sunday to go exploring.
Does anyone have any recommendations of somewhere to stay inbetween Inverness and the Torridon area? I finish work on the Sunday around 2pm, so planning on heading in that direction and doing the Bealach on the Monday morning then carrying on my journey from there.

There are places in Garve and Kinlochewe, but TBH it's only 1 hour 10 mins from Inverness to Torridon and there are loads of places to stay this side: http://www.stevecarter.com/ansh/ansh7.htm The Torridon Inn is very good (the usual stop off for PHs)Does anyone have any recommendations of somewhere to stay inbetween Inverness and the Torridon area? its absolutely on my list to get to scotland for a weekend of pure driving!
i may be heading up to edinburgh at the weekend or next weekend to collect a motor, im heading back down towards cheshire after that but are there any roads or routes i should check out on my way back down?
If I'm coming back from Edinburgh to the Midlands I usually take the A708 from Selkirk, past St Mary's Loch, to Moffat and join the A74 there. It isn't as good as the highland roads, but still fun. Evo used that area for their car of the year test a few years ago. i may be heading up to edinburgh at the weekend or next weekend to collect a motor, im heading back down towards cheshire after that but are there any roads or routes i should check out on my way back down?

This ^^Also, just added the B6357 between Newcastleton and Bonchester Bridge to my route for Fri evening. Road is pictured in this months EVO that dropped through the letterbox this morning (they're testing the new Boxster). Road looks interesting. Then I'll be on to Moffat via the A708, as you say another EVO road test recommendation.
Might as well make it interesting on the way North.
I was tempted to head over to Applecross yesterday but saw the inn post on FB that the road was closed due to snow!
I did a nice long loop including Cairn o Mount (Banchory-Fettercairn), the A939 from Blairgowrie to Tomintoul taking in the Glenshee and Lecht ski centres (check out Henry Catchpole's video here , the Stonehaven-Banchory "Slug Rd", a new-to-me road: Braemar - Tomintoul, the Cabrach (Rhynie-Dufftown) twice and a few local roads just to finish off.
First good road run of the year, about 370 miles in total, gorgeous day!

Sitting in the applecross inn about to redo the pass. Did i see you red going home just before fort augustus. Lots of mr2 etc. Waves anyway
If the etc. included a blue Elise and a red VX220 that would clinch it. Trigbert said:

A for the B6357. Three of us used part of it on the drive home on Tuesday - https://goo.gl/maps/jnhvS8ZcdDB2Might as well make it interesting on the way North.
We had quite testing conditions this time round. Including a snowstorm on Friday going north over the Lecht. Very poor visibility and effectively down to one lane near the top with the wind driving the snow into drifts. The rapidity with which condition deteriorated was startling to those who hadn't had previous experience in the mountains.
The weather was very changeable. We had a LOT of rain, some snow, and bright sunshine all in the space of an hour. Rinse and repeat.
Very different from previous years but still hugely enjoyable nonetheless.
