yes to both.

See the posts on pages 187 & 188 for availability of super unleaded.
Covers pretty much all the bases north and west of the A82.

Hi Bananachips,

Lovely photos.
The hill behind your car in both photos is called The Watch Hill.

local lore has it that it's called this because the natives of the time used it to look out for inbound viking raiding parties....

Thanks eglf, makes sense right enough it would have an ideal scope up there.

And the islands behind your car are the Rabbit Islands.
With Island Roan to the right.

Awesome. smile

We definitely managed to choose the wrong week for our trip.
The weather was nothing like that when we were there.
In fact it was pretty censored for much of the time, except for the Saturday.
As a result I'm struggling to find any pics worth posting... frown

Looks familiar, from my trip last week... smile Can vouch for the weather. rolleyes Road surface on the A890 between Lochcarron and Achnasheen was particularly crap in places for anyone doing it soon too.

Well, after talking about it for years, im finally up here!

10 days, start to finish, its part driving, part touristy holiday with the wife.

Im in the Stag, but, on the upside, i can beat it mercilessly, and we still aren't going that fast! Still good fun though. Left Lancaster services on the M6 first thing this morning and now tucked up in the B&B in Oban. Came up via Mcinroy point to dunoon ferry, A815 and A83 to Invarary. Hadn't really clocked how touristy that is there. Very nice though. Then onto the deserted A819, then left onto the B840 all the way down Loch Awe.The B840 is a nice route, but not much of a road frown After that, picked up the A816 for the run into Oban. Thats was MUCH better, and only caught some traffic (bikes!) on the last stretch into Oban.

After some big miles today, we only have to get to Fort William tommorrow night. So most of tommorow will be a tourist. Any suggestions welcomed. Though obvioisly we will go to glencoe, and also do the loch leven loop as recommended on these very pages.

Will be making our way north as the week progresses, including a whirl round Getcarters patch. Hoping for some weather like the photos!

If the West gets the same weather as the rest of the country then tomorrow would be a nice day to be sitting outside Clachaig Inn with a burger and a pint taking in the Glencoe scenery smile

Just googled that. Sounds like good advice smile

Weather light cloud and breeze alledgedly. Not quite what the rest of the country is getting, but if its not raining, im happy.

Driven through Glencoe many times on the Club Triumph events, but no time to stop. Tommorow, we have all day smile
