Through work we get to travel through scotland, it is simply stunning and has a lot going for it in terms of the scenery. The NC500 ? why did it take so long to be thought about ? it should have been done a long time before.
On the way to cape wrath some place on the west coast....
If you lived up here you would know the answer! On the way to cape wrath some place on the west coast....
i presume the situation with super unleaded availability is no different than it was when discussed in this thread around a year ago? Has anyone used 95RON plus an octane booster or is that idiot talk... i've never tried it but slightly concerned about the ability for my new car (C63S) to cope with 95 without some vaguely understood apocalypse occurring.

Given the state of roads up here I’d be more concerned about your wheels.leggly said:

- Only needed to do so once though. That was the year I nearly came to grief by being held up on a single track road for 30 miles by an utter wr in a camper van.
He resolutely refused to observe the etiquette (despite having recently passed the blue sign!) and let me overtake. I got to the filling station 2 minutes after it shut.
I then had another 18 miles to go to reach my B&B. The next morning I worked out that I had made it with less than half a litre left in the tank.
The pumps there only had 95RON, so used that plus the booster to get me to where I could refuel with SUL.
Unless your car has a small fuel tank or is exceptionally thirsty you shouldn't normally have any trouble obtaining the higher octane fuel.
The only key thing to remember is that most filling stations up there are not open 24hrs * (Scourie has a pay-by-card-at-pump facility: 95RON only IIRC).
Coming to the end of a lovely few days in the Torridon area. A number of Porsches and a Ferrari at the Torridon hotel - some PHers among them surely?
Nipped over to Applecross for dinner tonight, was excellent, biggest langoustines I have seen in my life! Really feel for these places not being able to serve alcohol indoors and being at reduced capacity, but brilliant to be out
Also interesting to note the action that has been taken to prevent/discourage “wild” camping around Applecross (a few year since we were last there). The mind boggles at what must have happened to make that necessary!

It went completely bonkers last summer. Everyone who couldn't go to Ibiza (or similar) seemed to turn up here. Many of them didn't bother taking anything home.Gassing Station | Roads | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
