They are guilty and complicit.
TBH I was just using their case as an example, personally I don't think they are innocent just extremely naive and stupid. Just wanted to know what would happen if you have yourself in and explained you were forced Edited by sunnygym on Wednesday 14th August 12:26
If you told check in as you left here, I guess you would have half a chance. What would the likely outcome of telling check in at peru that you've got a stash of drugs though? There are few countries where I would want the choice.
Me, I would have tried to smuggle it home. If you're going to risk gangsters and prison, you might as well do it for a few million quid.

Drug runners don't just pick on anyone at random. Drug mules get involve of their own volition until they realise that they are in way over their heads. They know you the drug runners are by then, would be capable are identifying them, thats when the gun gets put in the face, and by then it's too late to back out.

I watched, an admittedly awful, documentary about Peru and Coke the other night, the complete Muppet they chose to present it talked to a convicted drug Mule in a Peruvian prison, he was asked to bring over 1Kg of pure coke, for this he was paid £5k plus flights and some expenses, in addition we tried to smuggle 300g of his own - he expected to make £20k in total from it, instead he got 6 years, he seemed quite up-beat and happy with his lot over there, it was dirty but no Bangkok Hilton, his teeth were disgusting though.Me, I would have tried to smuggle it home. I don't think for a minute they were coerced per their story, but otoh there have been plenty of cases where silly kids were chatted up into taking a few ounces of hash - don't worry it'll just be a fine if you're caught - only to be given a few kgs of showbiz on the day & things turn a bit nasty once you're in over your ears.
As ever, stupid people doing something stupid without giving full thought to the consequences.

What happens then is your case is heard in court, and the jury has to decide if you were really forced, or if you're making it up, I did jury service on a case like that. You go to prison either way as far as I know, but you get less time if you were forced (I'll be fked if I can remember the proper term for it)Edited by sunnygym on Wednesday 14th August 12:26
Those girls knew what they were doing. They thought the could go out to Ibiza, PR for a little bit and enjoy themselves for the summer. They've been sucked into a champagne lifestyle and wanted the easy way to keep enjoying themselves. Someone has tricked them into transporting this stuff from Peru and has told them if you get caught tell the authorities you were forced into doing it.
