I live in Fulham and trying to find out if there's anywhere vaguely near me that could be worth an evening blast. Depending on the traffic it shouldn't take too long to jump on the A3 and head out towards the M25 then turn off.....anyone know of any hidden gems?

Anywhere inside the M25 is a dead duck tbh.
Far too built up and riddled with speed limits.
Try this loop across the Surrey/West Sussex border.

Is there an easy way to plot this route (or any route like this) into a satnav?

Good knowledge red devil. I have done those roads before and in fact getting out on A3 then off at effingham and heading down towards peaslake etc is a cracking run!

How do you plot those and ask satnav to guide you?

I have no idea: I don't possess a sat nav so have never had the need to do so.

Google Maps has a facility to send directions to a mobile. Unfortunately it doesn't work with a route which has multiple specific waypoints. You can only have two, the start and endpoint and it then plots the most direct route between them. To change it to what you want can entail a lot of dragging and dropping. Not only is this a PITA but if your route is particularly sinuous Google Maps will refuse to understand why you could possibly want to go the way you have chosen and gets its knickers in a twist!

A quick Google search came up with this for converting to a sat nav file. Nothing to lose by giving it a try. smile

You can use the program 'TYRE to Travel' to create routes in many different formats, but you'll need a sat nav that accepts you loading itinerary or route files (not all do).

This may be helpful.

I use Google Maps links as an easy way of sharing routes.
Unfortunately the import from website option has been removed from the latest version of TYRE. frown
