I'll be doing a winter roadtrip early March, early sat am until late following Saturday.

Take the start and end point as Calais. I like 'cold' places, Chamonix, St Moritz, Verbier and most of the Alps spring to mind. Of course my car will be on full winters but it is not 4WD. Motorways are fine for the first and last day to get to and from where I want to go quickly. After that, preference is non-motorways.

The catch is that I must be in Stuttgart from Tuesday midday until about 4pm on Thursday (working so non negotiable).

So the following is an open question- where would you go? This trip is about the driving, not the visiting loads of places and walking around them sightseeing. I also have an iron butt so can do mega time/mileages each day.

March this year I did a 2,500 mile roadtrip (Dijon, Chamonix, Monaco, Milan, Lake Como, St Moritz, Baden Baden, Bruges) and took in 11 countries in the 7 days and that was in a 1.2 Seat Ibiza Ecomotive. This year, I'll be in the lap of luxury in a 2.0 TDI Passat!!!!!

Any comments/routes most welcome but Alps is the main area I'm looking at and I appreciate Stuttgart bang in the middle of the week isn't ideal. I was thinking of maybe taking in Audi museum (Ingolstadt) and the BMW museum (Munich) on the journey either before or after Stuttgart but it's not a pre-requisite. I've done both the MB and Pork museum in Stuttgart.

So I've done a draft itinerary and would appreciate critique.

Sat - Calais to Lusanne
Sun - Lusanne to St Moritz
Mon - St Morritz to Innsbruck
Tue - Innsbruck to Stuttgart (Work until Thurs Evening)
Thur - Stuttgart to Baden Baden for Spa on Friday morning
Fri - Baden Baden to Munich and Ingolstadt
Sat - Ingolstadt to Calais

Comments very welcome.

OR after Baden Baden, go on B500 and back into alps/Chamonix and home. Forget the museums.

Is the ring open for tourist laps this time of year? It wouldn't be a huge detour.
