Any one had problems with heavy transport such as quarry wagons from 5:30 AM all day until 5-6 PM and speeding traffic using the road outside their home as a rat run i have asked the police to put a restriction on to slow it down to the speed limit and asked what the speed limit should be they said they dont know i will have ask the local council highways so i asked them they said they dont know ask the police i said i have asked the police traffic division and they said ask you then they said ring the county council h they said they dont know but ring the road safety council so i rang them they said they would look into it
i did ask about weight restriction and the damage to the road the reply i got from the council highways was ask the police
you can see why council tax goes up every year perhaps they know ?

Every day the road outside my house (30mph limit and narrow) has idiots speeding up and down and sometimes double the limit!
According to the local police, random speed traps wont work as "they will only be effective while in place!"

Famous Stars with Dyslexia!
by horne_jeffrey created 20 Nov 2014 | last updated - 19 Oct 2015
15 to 20 percent of the general population suffer from a reading condition known as dyslexia. Dyslexia is a reading learning disability where people usually read words, letters, and sentences backward, which can drastically affect their comprehension. This condition is labeled as the most common learning disorder and most recognized reading disorder. Dyslexics tend to struggle with auditory short term memory, phonological awareness, phonological decoding, processing speed, orthographic coding, language skills/verbal comprehension, and rapid naming. Dyslexics tend to learn to read instead of reading to learn. To elaborate, learning to read is dyslexics asking other people the definition of a unfamiliar word or constantly sounding out difficult words, which can distract them from finding the point of the story. Reading to learn can be dyslexics who having the coping mechanisms to understand and enjoy what they are reading. In some cases, dyslexics may read entire book or essay without discovering the author's thesis. Helpfully, individuals can receive help by receiving extra time and attention in the classrooms. For example, most common class accommodations includes giving students time in a half to finish their exams. If the exam is 90 minutes long, dyslexic students may receive 2 hours and 15 minutes since half of 90 is 45, which will be added to the 90 minutes. Other types of coping tools are using pen to highlight, put a star, or circle main ideas. Interestingly, people with dyslexic tend to have average and above average intelligence, which means they have the ability to do the work.

think how dangerous it is.

As i have been told there is no speed sign coming into the uphill road at one end and there is a speed sign coming in from the top end from 60 to 30 and there is 40 - 60 ton quarry lorries running down hill and damaging the road seriously, and as said previously no one seems to care with a disaster waiting which is inevitable. There is also a school sign showing going uphill a child holding a younger childs hand . speed limit ( what speed limit )

Max they should be doing is 50, so between 30-50 depending on road.

Why not post a google map location should be easy to work out.

i suggest you involve your local councillor, the one on the county council or whichever authority is responsible for highways in your area. Also, get together with your neighbours and write to your local paper; a bit of media coverage may prompt the council to remember the speed limit - good luck.

If there are no speed limit signs and it's single carriageway and no traffic calming... Then it's 30 if there are street lights (defines "built up") or NSL (60 on single c/w) if no street lights.

All other limits (on single carriageway) have to be sign posted and where they start and have small repeater signs at intervals. If there traffic calming it should be 20mph but should also be signed (there are some that are either not signed or signed as 30).

At least thats what I was told on the speed awareness course...

Go to a Parish Concil meeting, raise the issue. Often there will be a County Councillor there, and occasionally a neighbourhood PC or PCSO. A councillor will likely visit with you at the scene. Being a Parish Councillor is often a thankless, unpaid task, but these are typical issues. The County Councillor should have the ear of the county Highways Committee. I had the same issues with HGVs coming down our lane, taking a short cut, despite, or perhaps because of what their sat-nav said. The problem is some can look large but still be under 7.5 tonne, so you may want to consider width as well as weight restrictions.

I have just received confirmation from the council and says enforcement is a matter for police , and speed surveys or speed traps are put in place by road safety council deja vu

It looks like a signed partition might get noticed.
