Fantasy Road System
Discussion
Was browsing SABRE forum and noticed they had a fantasy road section and wondered what mine would look like for Britain and Ireland so made it. A coastal high speed motorway always appealed to me.
The key is -
Dark Blue = 8 lanes / 100mph / Motorway Classification
Light Blue = 6 lanes / 70mph / Dual carriageway classification
I think this could help solve a lot of traffic flow problems, might cost a bit though.

Sweet
However might I be so bold to suggest if money no object, rather than buggering about going out to sea, we build multiple height motorways??
Multiple height motorways are ugly, whereas a sea bridge is much nicer. Could build a few towns out there as well to make them more useful. However might I be so bold to suggest if money no object, rather than buggering about going out to sea, we build multiple height motorways??

You've built a motorway pretty much through my house, so that's a no from me.
Compounded by the fact that your motorways don't seem to go between places where lots of people live.
Sorry about that, I mean it's a rough guide though so your house could be saved, or they could be elevated.Compounded by the fact that your motorways don't seem to go between places where lots of people live.
They are in addition to current motorways which cover places lots of people live, just an additional way of getting traffic around. This should actually take a lot of load of the existing motorways as if you're going from Newcastle to London you could still use the A1/M1 but if you could now also use two new alternative routes, similarly for many places across the country.

And you have single handedly destroyed the whole coastline of the UK by building a motorway all around the perimeter.
Thanks, I'm out...
It wouldn't be on the coastline though, it would be on land and set away in. There's roads by much of the current coastline as it is anyway and people still use those beaches. It's not going to ruin our beaches, the one out at sea won't be visible either. Thanks, I'm out...
I have a contrasting system, I think its clearly much better. Firstly every single road will be brought up to a very good standard and every manhole cover will receive a high grip coating. This will be paid for by taxing people who irritate me.
Then every other Sunday morning until 12 noon everyone, literally everyone who isn't me or one of my guests, has to stay off the roads.
Then myself and perhaps my guests will be free to ride our bikes and/or drive our cars as fast as we jolly well like. We will be followed by an air ambulance just in case.
