UK to western Romania
Discussion
I have a wedding to go to in western Romania next year, and after sampling the joys of Wizz Air from Luton previously my mind is set on not flying.
Logic dictates a route somewhere through France/Belgium/Germany/Switzerland/Austria/Slovakia/Hungary or thereabouts, but I'm inclined to swing south to go through Northern Italy and back through France on the way home even though it'll take a bit longer.
So, any thoughts about what sort of a specific route I should take? Any specifics to look at doing? I'm going to be driving a resolutely unsporting vehicle, and I've already popped my Nordschleife cherry...

Never had an issue with Wizz Air from Luton to Constanta or Bucuresti, fly them routes probably 5-6 times a year.
Route on the way there looks about right, on the way back I'd be tempted to go south through Croatia, Slovenia and into Northern Italy, then turn upwards (simply to avoid France) through Switzerland and back into Germany.

In honesty it wasn't really Wizz Air that was the problem, but Luton. Route on the way there looks about right, on the way back I'd be tempted to go south through Croatia, Slovenia and into Northern Italy, then turn upwards (simply to avoid France) through Switzerland and back into Germany.

Sounds more or less what I was thinking. I've been googling a little for things to do and I've got the following stuff on a wish list; whether I'll be able to fit it all in in a single trip is another matter.
Grossglockner Pass

Berchtesgaden (Eagle's Nest)

Deutsche Alpenstrasse

Vienna Cafe Central

Route Napoleon
Any other bits and bobs anyone can think of?
