Beat the Gantry Time to Junction

Coming home yesterday.

Sign on the M11 says 40 miles 45 mins to the M25.

I can beat that, 10 year old son offers 100 stomach punches if i fail !

I lose a bit of nerve and we agree to 10 punches per minute i am outside of the 45 mins.


Set off at a decent speed but traffic is heavy, we stop at one point !! Once we pass Stansted the road opens to 3 lanes and progress improves - flashing people out of the way, i have a lot at stake here.

13 miles to go in 12 mins.

Blue lights appear in the distance - he is all excited now hoping for a crash, and the road being closed.

6 miles to go 5 mins, getting a bit sweaty now.

Queue on Slip road - 3 miles to go.

Had to continue down the outside lane and then move across further down - without causing anybody any issues, large enough gaps.

Slip road is a tight turn especially in an upright A Class.

Actually made the M25 1 min late - i took my 10 punches like a man ! Handy tip do not play this game with teenagers / adult children....

Interesting that the Gantry Time was spot on, despite traffic being quite heavy.

Pleased to see someone else considers these times displayed on mway gantries as a challenge, thought it was just me.
