Hard pushed to nominate my favorite area for riding / driving but Big Sur in California on the brilliant Highway 1 is right up there with the very best........ It was on my doorstep when I lived in Hollywood and joins the Nurburgring and the Amalfi Coast as my top three most memorable experiences of petrolhead bliss. :-

I had the pleasure of driving highway 1 last month and is was very very good. I also got to take a Sunday morning drive up Angeles Crest Highway for breakfast at Newcombe ranch, that was petrolhead bliss

Next time you go you should check out Mulholland Drive which connects Hollywood to Santa Monica over the mountain route....... Sunday a.m. brings out the driving freaks !
