Dukes Pass is one of my local backroads. Very twisty but can be mobbed in the summertime with slow moving tourists. Your will get your best runs late at night during the summer when you still have visibility. All roads around this area are amazing aswell. I usually just get in my car and head towards the Dukes Pass and loop home, sometimes going as far as Fort William.
Duke’s pass is definitely a good one. The road could be a bit smoother though. And some corners could be better sighted. I did it in my Mx5 and loved it but now have a Megane which feels quite wide. I’ve always been quite lucky on it and not encountered any slow drivers or cyclists.
The A702 from Elvanfoot to Thornhill is very good. Fast with great visibility. See also Mennock Pass and the road from Strathaven to Muirkirk.

B4494 Newbury to wantage is amazing. Opens up at the wantage end into some incredible elevation changes and long sweeping bends, easy to get carried away on the straights though as there’s sharpish corners in places.
Chain Hill is a great road, part of the "Wantage TT" ruined by 50 limit now. I use it often on the bike for coaching, then head west along the B4507 for some hard graft past Uffington White Horse to Swindon or out of Wantage along the A417 to Faringdon, Letchlade and the CotswoldsGilhooligan said:

Both of these are fantastic driving roads. I regularly take a detour when driving up or down the M74 to visit Thornhill, then turn round and come back before continuing my journey. (Strathaven to Muirkirk currently not do-able due to a bridge being down a couple of miles past Dungavel, but still worth the shortened drive. And deserted.)

I've just spent some time looking and can't find it to save my life but I stayed up in Blairgowrie and went over to Aberdeen for a day out. I've put the same details in on Google Maps but it seems to point me in a much more boring route now. When I was there it took me over some fabulously crooked country lanes. Only 20-30mph stuff but seriously entertaining!
Local road. Lovely sweeping bends and esses either a couple of slow down sharp ones to take on.
Perfect line of sight through the bends and esses to take a racing line when the road is clear.
Brilliant little section when there is no traffic.
Occasionally see the ones that have tried and failed in a field.
Sadly a Ferrari ended up in tree trunk a few years back on one of the sharper bends.
Tricky when wet.

There's a road I like in Yorkshire, Hebden Bridge Road. It's a nice stretch with vast visibility and no blind corners or blind hills so you can get a good run without worrying about police and without worrying about anything coming the other way. It's also nice to drive down a road where you don't have to worry about any morons overtaking on a blind bend or hill which is what made me stop going for runs down my old favourite B roads. There's a road in the Dales which I forget the name of that has a few nice corners, quite wide with a clear view so you could kick the back out a little.

There are lots of excellent roads and bends in the Dales. The B6277 from Alston to Middleton in Teesdale has some fast flowing bendsbrisel said:

Hebden Bridge Road is only 15 minutes from me (Oxenhope end) Its very bumpy in a few places now.Two stand-outs for me.
1) The steepest chunk of the Hardknott pass, a few hairpins down from the top, going west to east.
Not ridden a bike on anything like it. Fabulous.
2) Cock Bridge to The Lecht ski centre, A939. Massive buzz every time I've done it. Had sun, fog, high winds, heavy rain and snow. Done it 5 times...
