Do any of these services offer an HGV/large vehicle function?

I know Garmin offers a standalone unit, but it's excruciatingly expensive. Been driving big vehicles for a few years now but wonder if it was something worth investing in, or am I just doing myself a disservice. Built-in nav in newer machines is crap in all honesty, it's the bridge heights and road weight limits that is the difference, so far I've got by if I'm unfamiliar by a quick check of google maps for the general route and just use the road signs. So far, only got caught out badly once, a town had 4 roads in (former walled city), but only one of them is higher than 10'11", found out the hard way with a coach that was 11'10". Reversing down the road and three-point turns at 46'8" long upsets a few people that's for sure.

TomTom and Garmin offer truck-specific devices where you customise to your vehicle’s size and weight and they calculate the best routes on this basis.

Didn't know TomTom did them. Just checked their site. €450. Ouch!

it exports in just about every sat nav format and google maps.
You can also send it to google maps on your phone
+1 for Tyre.

Been using this for many years. we normally create .itn files for TomTom SatNavs.

Tyre only works with Windows PCs, so no use to Mac users.
And even if you have a Windows machine you have to have Internet explorer. So not a universal solution.

Bootcamp is the answer smile Alternatively it's worth picking up an old laptop for £50 just to run TYRE or ITNConverter.

Been using TomTom app for euro trips across the alps for many years now. At first bit clunky but after 2 years of improvements now a mature product.
Allows very easy route creation in Mydrive (for free and includes route suggestions) which can be used for navigation through the TomTom go app (both Adroid and ios). Provides opportunities to share 1 user ID that holds routes in one place and syncs changes to each individual user when changed. Ideal for group road trips. True, requires monthly fee for use of the TomTomgo app but this can be done per month for an insignificant amount tbh.
