hi

well i finally did it

i only live 30mins from it

but today i decided to go for a run!

was nice to strech the cars legs as its only just been taxed (its an Evo 6 TME)

saw some nice Honda Type R' in the sportsman carpark and gave them a beep (anyone on here?)

and then had an audi, merc and focus RS coming towards me in the middle of the road which was nice!

after there we headed towards llyn celyn, and over to barmouth

and then hit one of my old rallying roads, which i can't for the life of me remember where it starts but ends up at lake vwyrnwy, which was fun! esp. driving in a blizzard! LOL

anyway, i was very suprised how quiet it was being easter, but it made my day!

take car and safe driving

Hi Evo Moggy, great picture (the missus looks a bit bored though biggrin
When you say the Lake Vyrnwy road ? do you mean the one from LV to Dinas Mawddwy ?

If so you'll realise it's a road that needs a LOT of respect.
To anyone thinking of doing so, DON'T try driving it at speed during daylight hours (you'll either kill yourself or more likely the oncoming motorist you hit)
To drive it at night I'd suggest the use of a co-driver. . . . .

How do I know this ? well let's just say I consider myself incredibly lucky to have walked away from a high speed accident (of my own making) on this very stretch road without injuring any innocent parties (or indeed myself)

that will be the road

oh it needs lots of respect! its used alot for Roadrally's aswell at night! hence how i know it

the picture was taken coming from dinas, and then heading towards vwyrwy (sp)

and yeah - she was bored by then!

its one of those roads that you'll get a clear run on it once in a blue moon, but even when you get a clear run if you always have to think! WHAT IF...................

glad you've walked away from it not too badly hurt, i remember seeing a mk2 escort destroying itself on there!

showed my dad the photo! and he grew up round there! and he said.... oh BMC us'd to test the mini coopers around there! LOL so atleast we know we're in good company!

I think the actual road around Lake Vyrnwy is "safer", it's certainly wider !!! albeit there always seems to be quite a few people either driving or walking around it once Spring comes around.

oh yes

i'll agree with you on that one

well thats apart from the 10 land rovers coming the other way - covered in mud, couldn't see where they were going and nearly forced me off the road! i won't tell you what the other 1/2 said!!! LOL

but normally there are no problems around the lake, but the week days are better wink

When I was there, I found it to be *just* about wide enough for two cars in many places, due to many people not knowing how wide their car is.
