Fantastic! Definately worth getting up early for! OP, if you do head up to the Lake District, you MUST visit The Gingerbread Shop in Grasmere. Sold in packs of 6, you need at least 2 packs!

This was 8:30ish on Sunday, just to show some of the roads can be enjoyably free of traffic at the right time.

I went up it last November and only saw about 4 cars and then a Mercedes CL65 AMG try and give it ago which i thought was brave in such a low car - in the summer however it is a popular area with walkers and cyclists so it'll probably be rammed frown
Went up in the GT3 last week, no grounding out or anything. Twas fun....

Did however rip the splitter off on the run along Wast Water down to Wasdale Head...

Thanks for all the road tips. Didn't get as much time out on the roads as i hoped, but did drive a couple of roads around Windermere and Coniston area, and the area is beautiful. Didn't really struggle that badly with the traffic but it's still early for the summer traffic. Hopefully getting back up there later in the year so will give it a better go.

So still a lake then surely?
No, it's a mere, that's why it's called Windermere and not Lake Winder...wink
