A few suggestions although none of them are particularly close to the UK.

Brabus test their cars on the A31 north of Bottrop.

A PHer has previously mentioned doing well over 200+ on an autobahn near Frankfurt Airport. This was done at sunrise on a sunday morning to allow for minimal traffic.

My personal favourite, The A7 from Ulm down to Kempten, a few very fast stretches with minimal traffic.

I think RUF use the A96 near Mindelheim (not far from the A7 mentioned above)

To do any sort of high speed runs, you really need to be looking at doing a dawn run on the weekend, ie very light traffic and no lorries on the roads.
The A31 from Bootrop to Emdem running parallel to the Dutuch border is outstanding for high speed runs. But beware of the Dutuch drivers pulling into your lane at 60mph.....

So is fuel.

I came down there on a Saturday too, much less traffic. Cruising at 120mph was easy, few stints to 150mph too. Videos on youtubewink

No, just stating what can be done on the A61 given the day.
I'm sure more can be done, so the point of posting a video of it ?

And as if by magic a 206mph run on the A5......

Lovely.

Free roads for free people.

Mind you, I was 150 mph down there once and some
middle aged lady pulled out without looking, only
doing about 110 mph tops in her Nissan Micra.

Full beam and an emergency stamp of the brakes.
Not sure what's more insane, 110 in a Micra, or 150+ in any other (decent?) car on the road where some people may be still doing 70-80.

is that at the A52 interchange? it is actually quite a busy junction if so

edit: no, it looks like the A4 actually, not as much traffic joining a61 northbound at that point i suppose

Don't forget trucks in lane one, limited to 56 mph.

Fun when they pull out into lane 2 and you're
in lane two at 130 mph

Driving on German autobahn is really driving.

Forget your speedo, concentrate on what's happening
outside the windows.

None of this "light doze at 60 mph, cruise control on
and concentrate on Radio 4 while sitting in the middle
lane for fifty miles" nonsense you get in the UK.

The A5 from Frankfurt to Darmstadt is probably the
best bet in the whole of Europe for fast runs.

Seventy years ago, 250 mph was achieved ;->
... though not everyone walked to tell the tale.

The A3 Koln-Frankfurt road can be good when it's quiet.
Three lanes each way, no limits.
While some restrictions have been imposed here recently this is also the stretch where Thomas Bscher of Bugatti regularly exceeded 200 mph in his McLaren F1 while commuting between his Rhein-Main home and his office in Cologne while working at Sal. Oppenheim prior to his automotive career. The story goes that when his F1 went in for regular maintenance and showed frequent excursions beyond 200 mph a faulty logging unit was first suspected until Bscher confirmed the speeds. This was 10+ years ago though so these speeds are not necessarily feasible here any more.

Good try! smile

I love high speed cruising, gives such a buzz.
bowtie Thanyousir! It certainly was fun, but the biggest surprise was the speed from the smallest Mondy engine! smile
