Goodwood from South London

Hi All,

Ok, I'm heading to the FOS Next Sat .

Question is are there any good roads on/around the area. I'll be heading from South London (Croydon) and would like some nice A/B roads to drive on as opposed to the M23(?)

I've had a brief look on the aa route planner, that says i'll be on the A27 for some of the journey, is that a nice road?

Any road recommendations?

I'd suggest pick up the A24 at Guilford drive down past Boxhill down towards the big BUCK BARN crossroads (read traffic lights) turn left onto the A272 to Billingshurst through to Petworth. Out of Petworth staying on the A272 through to Midhurst then drop down to Chichester/Goodwood.

A27 is really a crap dual carriageway most of the time, pretty boring drive IYAM.

Or drop Billynomates or Derek500 a mail they drive it all the time.

There are some fantastic driving roads between south London and Goodwood. I usually to it via the M23 to get there in good time but on the way back set my sat nav to the shortest route avoiding motorways and this takes me cross country. (And I often ignore the sat nav if I see an interesting lane heading in my general direction.)

Thanks both. Posted on the AR forum and got a route, sounds like M23 to Pease Pottage then A raods from there

just beware that ALL of the roads will be awash with speed cameras and police traps.
