Im realively new to the south east, and im planning to go to the Goodwood nights from Reading Berkshire. I was wondering whether anyone could recommend a good route.

Need to scare the 'mouth in the passenger seat' shut!!!

The route from Petersfield through Harting to Lavant and then Goodwood is highly recommended.

You could use the A339, A32 and then A272 to reach Petersfield, but that's a little out of your way...

Best Reading to Petersfield route is A33 to Wellington Country Park, take the B3349 to Hook then on to Alton. Then the A32 through East Tisted and then take the left at the x-roads towards Froxfield. Keep on this road down through Steep and in to Petersfield.

These are all speed-trap-free excellent roads (when empty)

Petersfield to Goodwood is straightforward on some B road...

One of the best kept secrets around. Long long straights, that wonderful bend at the end, dips, then the road down to Steep biggrin

I'm going to have to check that out. (A33/B3349/A339 is one of my favourite routes for a quick hoon locally.) Don't think I'm aware of this road you speak of smile

Stop off at the Trooper's Inn for a great gastro-pub.
