The Black Mountains

Saw a piece on Top Gear recently clicky where Jezzer took a Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 Black Series to the Black Mountains.

I'm going to be going very close to there soon and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for good roads up there for an early morning blast

The A4069 is a cracker, it may even be one of the roads featured in the CLK piece. Starts off slowly (I was coming from the north) but once you start climbing it's great! Be warned though, when I was there there were a few police bikes in convoy - it looked like they were doing a training course. I haven't tried many other roads in the area yet, but if you're able to go a little further north then the Elan Valley is fantastic! There's a topic in this section with loads of info and pics.

Thanks for that, I've just found a thread on Elan Valley, looks like it might worth having a look. The route I have it 200 or so miles, so up at silly o'clock and it shouldn't take too long
