It is a great road, but has the same sort of problems as the Cat and Fiddle further south in the Peak District, too many plod and too man caravans frown
Although as I remember Snake Pass does have a lot of places to pull over and put some distance between you and the painfully slow drivers that seem to frequent that road

The ladybower in question, is the big reservoir on the right, before and under the bridge just before the trafic lights. The ladybower pub, is through the traffic lights, and about 100 yards or so on the left, iirc, on a bend! You cant miss it if you are coming from manchester(should have put that at the start of this post, what a tool) it will be just about where you are up to cruising speed after the traffic lights!!

Oh yes, from the look of that picture you must live somewhere around the bamford area! Some good roads around there, especially bamford to sheffield via hathersage!

Chesterfield actually, I figured Snake Pass was worth the drive out there. I wasn't wrong biggrin
Did it a few years ago in my little 1.6 Peugeot 306, so the 50 limit wasn't really much of a problem.
Yet another picture I took when waiting for a caravan plod off into the distance:

Why should i of put it at the start of the post? Why is it relevant? Maybe i should of put that i turn off at the bridge to head towards Sheffield so i have never been that far but i am considering it now.

i also like the road glossop 2 shefild as well thats a little bit quicker. the best is going of the beaten track going 60 on a single lane road whats not illigal in derbshire.

Did that when I was over. Loved it. Middle of the day on a wednesday so it was just me, a bloke on a ducatti and an old duck in a micra which was dispatched with.

Then i turned around and did it again.
