great Vid CW42, i wish i was closer to roads like these. Essex is sooooo boring, yeh the B184 is good but these roads (and welsh) are in totally different leagues


I got 3 questions about your vids though.

What Camera setup are you using? (sorry if ive missed a thread on this, i did search)
What is the beeping as you go up the rev range?
And what Radio/walkie talkie do you use to talk to other people on your Convoys.

As for your questions, that's what forums are for
1. Camera is a SONY DCR-HC90E mini DV (google it!) That's mounted on a B-HAGUE suction mount: http://www.b-hague.co.uk/Mounting%20Brackets.htm
I then plug it in to my pc at home, upload the vid via firewire, edit, and host on youtube or google video. Also our webmaster allows hosting on his site at www.scoobysmacs.co.uk/video.asp
2. The beeping is a feature of the my03 sti impreza, where you can set an alarm (the beeping) at any revs. Mine is set at 4500 rpm as that is nearly the top of my power curve
3. Radios I/we use on club runs are cheap walkie talkies from comet/maplins, we've all got different models and tune them into the same channel.

Unfortunately, i may have to duck out of this run, due to work going onto a three day week! Not happy about it, as i was really looking forward to this, will have to see if i am okay finance wise before commiting definately!

Not the nicest weather for a run today but i headed up over woodhead, devils elbow, snake then the strines back home.

Coming back over the strines i spotted these









There were timekeepers dotted along the road, think it was some sort of historic rally.
Wouldn't fancy being in the open one much during the hail

Gutted, was really looking forward to this! Hopefully things will pick up sometime soon!

I plan on doing North wales some time this year. Making a "holiday" out of it.

When i go to oulton park for BTCC (fri-monday camping) this year i'm planning a "detour" via the Snake pass, but thats all my mates will allow. My mates dont like driving you see Just need to find a great pub on or near the pass to keep em happy with a pub lunch.
