Looking for good driving roads in Europe - Please help
Discussion
Hi Everyone,
I am hoping that someone out there will be able to give me some ideas for some really good roads for the TVR for our up and coming trip to Europe so that we can enjoy the TVR to it's max. Our route is as follows:-
Calais to Monchengladbach (Germany) - Staying 2 nights
Monchengladbach to Innsbruck (Austria) - Staying 1 night
Innsbruck to Lausanne (Switzerland) - Staying 2 nights
Lausanne to Pont a Mousson (France) - Staying 1 night
Pont a Mousson to Brugge (Belgium) - Staying 2 nights
Brugge to Calais
Calais to Peak District (for the Chatsworth Gathering) - Staying 1 night
We have got some routes in mind but if you can come up with some stunning routes that encompass the great scenery and tunnels it would be very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

I've got friends just outside Lausanne, and did a similar trip last year. Leaving Lausanne we headed for Mulhouse (Schlumpf Brothers musuem is well worth a visit) but stuck to country roads and took an eternity to get out of Switzerland, extrememly picuresque though.
We then went through the Vosges mountains - well worth it if you can, stunning scenery and big mountain roads with sweeping hairpins (not tight), good for getting some speed up though. Then headed up to Bruges but by m'way as time was against us.

When you head back west from Innsbruck, I would suggest taking the 188 just after Landeck. Great scenery with some fast tunnels. At the top of the valley there is an amazing pass called the Silvretta Hochalpenstrasse, which brings you back down to Bludenz.

I know you mean west from Innsbruck.Been there, done that. Recommended.
The Reschenpass just South of Landeck is good too,
as is the Oetztal valley road to the South East.
As ever, http://www.alpineroads.com/ has it all.
To drive the hairpins on a climb you want to drive from West to East, so Bludenz direction towards Landeck.
However the section of the pass with the hairpins is relatively short and contained so you could easily double back and drive up it if you came in from the opposite direction.
