Cardiff to Leeds - Scenic Route (Good Roads!) Needed!!!

Can someone please advise me on some good roads to take back from Cardiff/Bridgend. Ive got the Whole day to come over the Black mountains/Brecons, so please advise away! I saw on here a while back some maps of routes over the Brecons, if someone has a link, please email me or reply on here ([e-mail]).
Off to see Take That with the Wife (I had no choice, honestly!...) so to get my own back, I intend to scare the Life out of my beloved on the way home!!
