Hi All
Just successfully completed 3 more days on the coast.
Starting in Lowestoft heading South. Taking in Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich, Aldeburgh, Woodbridge, and Felixstowe on the first day, all good and very pretty sights to see. Day 2 Felixstowe to Clacton on sea taking in all the inlets etc not to bad for the sights . Day 3 with no dis respect to anyone who lives there the coast roads get worse the closer you get to the London area. South end being ok but as you go up the Thames estuary it’s pretty rough road and scenes to see. All I can say is I won’t be heading back to Essex quickly. Just Kent to do around to Brighton and that will be England and Wales done just Scotland to do.
Presumably you've recorded your route (I use plotaroute), can you share it please?

Missing out a lot of coastline of south-west Scotland - Oban to Lochgilphead, Mull of Kintyre, Mull Of Galloway, Isle of Whithorn, etc.

Where do you draw the line…why not include the islands?

I’d say his effort is pretty good in terms on sticking to the coastline, there’s certainly areas where access by bike is better than car, so you trade one against the other.

Hi All,

Managed to complete Kent last week so all of England and Wales completed. We took four days to complete it, taking the opportunity to stop off and take in a few sight’s enroute with the first day including getting to our start point from the Midlands we had a great time. Day 1 M25 Qe2 bridge crossing to Whitstable. Day 2 Whitstable to Dover. Day 3 Dover to Hastings. Day 4 Hastings to Brighton. As I said a few stop off points Battle of Britain Memorial, Battle of Britain Museum Hawkinge, Seven Sisters cliffs, sandwich, Rye, Beachy Head plus others . Not the best road surfaces, but an enjoyable drive. Now looking North and over the border.
@Riley Blue. I plan the routes in advance using garmin express, I upload them to 2 units. GPS and sat nav (through experience) both running at the same time. The routes are saved. Only spanner in the works are road closures locally. So onto the next in August.
Cheers

Well done. I don't think I'd want to undertake such trips in high summer though; too many tourists in the way!
