Hook Lane - Lambourne End.

would love to have it closed so I could take one good blast at it without fear of cyclists or oncoming traffic!

So hard to name just one but I'll go with a an oldie that's laced with nostalgia for me; great views and a great road too.

The B3157 from Bridport to Weymouth is pretty special. So many up's and down's it feels like a bit of a rollercoaster at times.

Unfortunately it's not NSL, mostly 50mph limits but at the right time of day you can be in a bit more of a rush than that smile

They've all been killed by current day miserableness!

A24 from Leatherhead to Box Hill - 2 lanes, N/S/L round the Mickies. Fantastic in a V8 Rover or on an RD Yamaha. But now it's 1 lane, 50 limit and cameras. banghead

Up Box Hill, until they put the speed bumps in! Then for the 2012 Olympics they took them out, but now it's a nightmare in Lycra! banghead

A 217 between Sutton and the M25 - was 2 lanes and plenty of N/S/L. Now it's a 60 limit on the "mad mile" with cameras and 40 limit with average cameras on most of the rest. banghead

A3 from Cobham to New Malden - used to be mostly 3 lanes with N/S/L. Now much of it is 2 lanes with 50 average cameras. banghead

There is a decent stretch of A road near where I live now that has the N/S/L, but I daren't say where because that will doubtless also get f*cked!

There's a road between Nurburg and Adenau that's pure awesome. Makes going to aldi much more fun!

Closer to home there's a twisty road between Hadleigh, Suffolk, and Bildeston. Really good fun!

There's something quite special about bombing it down (westwards) the A4113 into Knighton on the Welsh border on a pushbike at dusk with the river below you to the right and the twinkling lights of the village through the trees:

One of my absolute favourite drives is along the A4117 between Doddington and Angelbank:

When my wife and I were dating I once took a very long detour to show her the incredible vista across the Clee Hills - except we arrived to find ourselves in the thickest fog I've ever experienced and we had to drive at about 10mph! We've been back a few times since once we got married and thankfully saw something of the view that previously eluded us.

US550 Colorado - AKA The Million Dollar Highway. I've just driven it for the second time this week on a USA road trip. Starting on the west coast the easternmost part of our route was specifically to drive the road again. The first time we drove it a few years ago we hadn't researched it and it was a jaw dropping surprise. Still just as good the second time round.

+1 I love the run from Bewdley through Cleobury Mortimer up to Clee Hill on
my motorbike. You have to be in the mood to tackle the road down from Clee Hill to Tenbury Wells though - narrow, poor surfaces, gravel and hairpins.

B*gger, too late - it's now a 50 limit!

The South East is misery in motion - or a queue! Avoid it if you can. laugh

My favourite road now is the one out of it!

The company has recently started a project on the outskirts of Knighton, and I'm looking forward to weekly site co-ordination meetings so I can do the A488 all the way from Shrewsbury to the site driving

I drive an old Rover 75 automatic.

I sit back in my big squashy seats and trundle along at 70, smug in the knowledge that my car was free from my father in law and my buttocks are more cumfy than all the financed (or taxed) german sales peoples cars flying by me smile

The M62 in East Yorkshire every single day, never ever busy:

It just seems a shame that so many Motorways got built in places where people don't use them - waste of money really! banghead

For those in the Southeast and especially east London into Essex then this is a lovely run, once you get to Haverhill swing around and do it the other way stopping at The Fox in Finchingfield for some refreshments
B184 Chipping Ongar - Great Dunmow
B1057 Great Dunmow - Finchingfield - Haverhill

On a recent trip to Wales of the many great roads driven the highlights for me were Aberswyth to Llangurig on the A44
Brecon to Hirwaun on the A470 /A4059 is superb, the A4059 one of the best roads I’ve ever driven tbh

Feel free to contribute - Though it looks as those have been mentioned already!

I did enjoy my recent trip to Wales; Some wonderful roads - I didn't spend much time counting road numbers, but I've got plenty of pictures on the map. Difficult to choose a favourite, but for a scenic trip, roads around caernarfon (There is a nice triangle around Snowdon that is very scenic, with lots of flowing twisties)

The A488, the road that time forgot, probably my favourite UK road, although the B4368 and B4378, Clun to Much Wenlock, are a close second!

Mine's the N59 in Connemara, Ireland, specifically the section from Aasleagh down to LetterFrack. The scenery is beautiful, the traffic normally light, and it has loads of well sighted challenging bends and interesting cambers, rises and dips etc. driving

Having spent a lifetime driving cars, trucks and motorcycles all over the world, my nomination is Mulholland Highway between Hollywood and Santa Monica
in California.

On a very fast motorcycle.

On any Sunday.

Nowhere else compares.

There are no cameras on the "mad mile" section ,so it's "mad" business as usual along there.

And it's 40 with average cameras ALL the way to M25 from Banstead crossroads.
