PaulFontaine,

That is a very good point. The RX-8 is hard car to maintain speed in with it's high revving nature - very similar to a VTEC, it makes you work a lot to keep it on the 'bubble'. The chassis really could handle a lot more power though and there is always the feeling of what could have been. The RS6 is absolutely brutal, there is no other word for it. There is very little about that can keep up with it, certainly nothing I have seen in the two weeks of ownership and a few have tried. The stopping power is vast - and it needs to be, this is a heavy car but the weight is disguised very well. They are very different creatures but I think the most telling point is that I have only been out in the RX-8 once since buying the RS6 and it really did feel slow. I am loathe to let it go, but it will never thrill me again..
Point taken i quite understand when the only thing you wind up racing against are motorcycles it hits the point. I is funny i had a similar issue and it was frustratingly hard to drive a slow (read: regular) car again and adjust one's driving style accordingly and that car was certainly not even a comparison to your beast. Enjoy and good luck we should all treat our self to a super car one in our lives and i would have to qualify you'r as one. I look forward to reading more about your adventures with that very special machine.
