Evening Dave, car looks superb. The 156 really suits Alfa Red. But get that rusty numberplate screw replaced!
When are you bringing her over? I miss mine.
Rusty screw added to the "to do list" When are you bringing her over? I miss mine.
About 3 weeks time she should be sorted. Found another hose that was split which could be causing the rough running. Gonna try and eliminate everything until I have to fork out for a MAF. Kerching!!!
Did you have that intake pipe of your 156 lying around?

Have you tried unplugging the MAF first and then taking the car out for a drive? That should confirm things immediately. The injector light will come on but it doesn't do the car any harm and you should feel an increase in urgency of performance. The engine might struggle to idle with the MAF unplugged though so you'll need to keep your foot on the throttle slightly to stop it from dying. That's how I diagnosed mine for definite as the MAF, leaving it unplugged harms fuel economy a touch though.About 3 weeks time she should be sorted. I checked in the garage, the only bit I have is the large plastic bit with the big rectangular appendage (the bit you can see on my profile picture). I thought the intake hose might have been in there too but unfortunately not. You're more than welcome to it though if you need it for anything.

I did unplug it but it made no difference which makes me think it is the knackered pipework that's the cause.
