Some of you might remember I bought this car back end of April, it's got a history file like nothing I've seen before and having had an extensive restoration on the usual rusty bits (everywhere) and and engine/gearbox rebuild.
Only thing that let it down was the paint, a big thing to let it down and I just couldn't understand why the wings (inner and outer) plus strut tops would be replaced then painted with cellulose paint and using what looks like a garden sprayer.
We stripped it to metal, welded up the very few holes that were found then gave it a good few coats of fresh paint.
It's had new carpet, new boot carpet, new mirrors and a good few coats of polish.

That is superb, I love the colour too, I think I prefer the MK2 'Tina particularly in 'E' form to the MK1!

Beautiful. Stupid question but is the lack of rear seatbelts a problem?

Thanks for all the positive comments!
The weird thing is driving this car gets so much attention. I might get the odd look in the M3 but most people think boxey old BMW - with the Cortina everyone looks and you find it becomes a talking point at every opportunity. This mardy woman at the local petrol station never says anything but went in the cortina and I couldn't shut her up, might have got lucky if I let her have a ride!!

Go to a better station then smile

Looks good fella, loving the heater in the rear window ! Was going to say it was very retro... but then it would be wouldnt it hehe

It does look brand new, is it very bouncy around or lovely roads ?

Martin it's actually really enjoyable to drive even though it's the slowest car I've ever had or driven. You can turn the steering wheel to ten to or ten past before anything moves.

Wow! Lovely old thing. You've really done it proud, bringing it back up to scratch. Good job!

That's some fleet you have OP. Where the hell do you keep all those!? laugh

968s and E30 M3s are icons. I hope you plan on keeping them for good.
