Just thought I'd put a few pictures up of my MR2 Roadster that I got in February.
11k miles on 55 plate when I bought it.
I'll get some better photos eventually.
I've got it booked in next week to have the wheels stripped and powdercoated. Unsure on colour but thinking gunmetal at the moment, opinions welcome?
After that will be 30mm drop, then wait until insurance goes down before I get onto the engine work.
Cheers

What have you got planned engine upgrade wise?
Suppose could do with a bit more power.
How you finding it so far?
Nope, get through your first winter then think about power upgrades (if its still in one piece lol)Suppose could do with a bit more power.

MR2ROC is the place to be loads of good info on there. For now I'll just mention 2 things. Tyre pressures 26 front 32 rear and same make and model tyres all around.
Heres my 230bhp turbo'd 2, sadly missed
And the one ihave now, much like yours but with some subtle tweeks
Lovely cars, unappreciated by many though who think any lowish powered convertable is driven by people who cut hair!

Stargazer, tyre pressure is fine and still running the stock yokohamas so no problems there. How are your alloys holding up? Mine are slowly getting worse with corrosion so finally getting them stripped and powdercoated next week. Any thoughts on colour to go with the blue?
What tweaks have you done?

New roof or new topstrap?
Did you get wheels refurbed due to paint bubbling or kerbing?
Very happy with mine.
Whole new roof. The material had shrunk and torn on the old one.Did you get wheels refurbed due to paint bubbling or kerbing?

Wheels done due to bubbling - well known on the Roadster!
All I have to do is bolt up some heat shields and T-Cut out a scuff from a car park ()and all will be good again!

Did these come with any variation on the alloy wheels?
Always liked these, but never been a fan of the wheels!
No and I'd avoid an MR2 with after markets as often the person fitting them doesn't realise being mid engined the rear wheels are wider than the front and ends up putting four tyres of the same size on. The result is a widow maker in the bad weather.Always liked these, but never been a fan of the wheels!

My alloys are okay bar one which is going, I will get them redone eventually, was thinking of going a slightly off darker silver but not quite antracite. What tweaks have you done?
Tweeks on this one are very minor, Markiii pipe, JDM noise badge, rear badges off except the MR2 one, lowering springs to go on soon, main fix was to totally upgrade the audio, new HU, 4 Ch amp feeding components on the front and a custom made 8" sub box in the rear bin. That way I can actually hear my music with the roof down on the A19 :-)

What's your thoughts on the markiii?
Assume you mean the pipe and not the car :-) Well the stock pipe when you take it out is fairly restricted, it reduces to about 4 or 5cm diameter for some weird reason (must be intake noise damping?) So by replacing it with the markiii pipe it can't hurt for sure. Seems to improve the throttle response a little and will maybe give a couple of BHP top end. I didn't pay £70 for one though, I was a cheap skate and bought some heat proof re-enforced flexi hose and jubelle clips instead.stargazer30 said:
