My Mazda MX5 S-Special Type II
Discussion
Hello
This is the first MX5 i've had after selling my MK2 Golf Ryder. Wanted a more fun car to drive and have heard good things about MX5'S so this seemed a good choice
At the moment it is pretty much a standard 1998 1.8 Mazda Eunos Roadster S-Special Type II, the only modifications on it are some KYB AGX shocks. Looked at a few different ones but loved this one as is in mint condition with only 83Km on it and has a full service history with it.
Got a few things I want to do with it, such as:
Fit new Coilovers
New wheels or get the BBS ones refurbed
New Brakes
New sports exhaust
Roll bars
And lots of other bits
Heres a few pics of it as it is at the moment:

Just a small update.
I've owned it nearly a month now and have just been sorting out a few small things.
Started with fitting a new number plate plinth as old one was cracked at the top and was annoying me, eventually in time I will get the bumper smoothed and move the number plate
Old number plate plinth:
and new one fitted, looking alot better
Next brought some new Side Repeaters and Chrome bulbs to go with them:
Fitted to the car:
Think it will look better with some matching clear bumper reflectors for the front so they match the side repeaters.

Been enjoying driving the car, took it to North Wales for a few days and had a great time on some awesome roads, especially the Llanberis Pass :thumb-up:

Came home and these were waiting for me -
Hoping to get these fitted this week, as the car needs lowering lol
Also received an induction kit that ive fitted and decided to paint the lettering on the rocker cover to match
Cars starting to come together, will post some more pics once its lowered

Looks a nice example, well done... but add a 3-spoke steering wheel to your list of things to do!
Thanks, have a Momo wheel to go in, should be in next week Mastodon2 said:
Love the spoiler, now get a good exhaust on there!
I hate those spoilers - have one on mine and want to swap my boot lid for one without! They stop you fitting a luggage rack.
That's a really nice example, though - aside from the spoiler.... what does an 'S-Special II' have over a 'standard' car?

Spoiler doesnt look too bad but have to agree I prefer them without spoilers so will have it removed at some point. They stop you fitting a luggage rack.

Not an expert on MX5'but the S-special comes with Strut braces at front and behind seats and also the colours only on this model and the RS version, not sure if theres any other differences.

Was this at the Sunday Service this morning? Nice to see it. Quite unusual to get it on an R Plate - was a '96 Special Edition. Fantastic cars - I had one a few years back.
