Father, son and a V8

Good story, only a few days to go. Will be nice to get it back!
My dad has no interest in cars, unless they are worth the same as a small house which neither he nor I, or him and me combined, can afford. The last car we 'owned' together he wrote off before I got to drive it. My favorite car which I asked him to store while I worked away, he sold, and the last time he drove my land rover he took the piss out of it because he was expecting it to go like a TVR for some peculiar reason. It is rather a shame as I'd love to own a car with him, or just have him show some enthusiasm towards cars, but he likes football and beer - at least I like beer.

Back in the 60’s as newlyweds, my parents worked in the US for around ten years. When it came time to come back home and start a family, my father, not favouring the UK offerings at the time, decided to bring over his ’66 Buick Special Sedan.
He ran it for around ten years, before finally moving it on in the early eighties. I still remember the last trip in it at the tender age of ten.
I still keep an ’eye out’ for it in the classifieds / ebay, in the vain hope of returning it to the family, but sadly I think it has long gone to the great freeway in the sky.
Great story and make sure you don’t lose it again!

A lovely thread, clearly it was meant to be..
I miss my dad every second of everyday. My son was 9 when my dad passed, I wish he was here still, to share in the joy I have in watching my son grow.
To all those who have lost their fathers, I share your pain. To all those who have not, give him a hug & tell him you love him..
