It's a 1982 XR3 (last of the non injections), it wasn't my intention to buy one of these but when it's only had 2 owners and 64,000 from new and the guy accepted my offer of 100 of your finest english pounds it would be rude not too, it needs some welding where it has been sitting around under a cover for the last 8 years and I am in the process of removing the RS1600i lookalike stickers and all the god awful colour coded bits to make it original then a full respray is on the cards

Thats cracking for a ton, must have been a petrol head to let it go for less than scrap price!

Best of luck with it, it could net you a super profit in a few years if you decide to part with it all restored.

100!! Lucky chap indeed, what reg is it? 4 or 5 speed box?

I had one until the end of 2010 and it was one of the very last non injections too,Y reg with a 5 speed box from new.Only sold it to buy my 16i

I have a set of hella spot lights here that would look far better on the front of it than the squre things that are there now too.;)

It's on a Y plate with the 5 speed box, the grille was the first thing to be removed and got myself an original one on the bay cheap, luckily the black plastics are all good after the red paint had been removed from them

Must require a lot of welding if it's been under a cover for 8 years, eh?

It's not too bad, the sills need replacing probably from the water sitting behind those non standard naff side skirts, there are a couple holes the size of 50p in the rear inner arches and that's about it, under the bonnet is solid as is the boot floor and under the carpets, the bottoms of the doors are good and so are the arches, front valance etc, the only things that need replacing are the common faults ie: the battery tray and the dash has loads of cracks in it

You're not wrong, who ever thought everything would look better in red must need their head testing, but at least they were painted propally with a good few coats so the actual black plastic underneath is like new, even the rubber boot spoiler was painted and again is in excellent condition under all the layers

Proper 80's styling going on there, will look miles better back to standard, they had a nice minimalism going on the original carbed XR3.

One to climb in value I reckon, not many left.

Is this 341Y ?? Pretty sure i own this now as there was still remains of those stickers and red paint on some of the plastics.
I’m in the middle of restoring it. I finished the body repairs and repainted it last week 👍
Be good to know a little bit of the history of her?
Regards
Spencer
