It seems that my (very dirty) motorbike is advertising your build (Ken Block may also be benefiting)

Indeed, top work, but I do not seem to have received my sponsorship monies yet?

Exciting update time.......

No real progress as such but I now have an engine biggrin well almost, today I purchased a shiney new DSS 347 Stroker along with a couple of Edelbrock Performer RPM heads complete with roller rockers driving not something I was intending on buying but got them for a good price so did not want to turn them down (suspension will have to wait a bit longer) should be good for a very reliable 400BHP all being well, just need to learn about engines now.... scratchchinwhistle

Anyway pics pics pics!

Well paneling the chassis is now nearly done, secretly quite chuffed with it as if I'm honest I was concerned I would run out of talent even before this stage was complete, but as far as I'm concerned so far so good...

And put a dash on just to see..

I know there are a loads of pics of the same thing but this thread is for my own records too, so please humour me!

Love the scale model as a means to visualise your goal and to provide motivation. Props for taking on the work yourself smile

Now not thought of one of those, I had that wheel on my old Morris! Steering wheel is sadly way down the list at the mo and had planned to go with the SGT one but the Mountney is certainly now an option time will tell however.

Next on the list of things to buy is:

Wiper Motor
AC
Loom
Cooling pipes
Heating pipes
Fuel lines
Clutch lines
Brake lines
Fuel tank plumbing
Peddle box

Subject to discussing with SGT I hope to order that lot next this side of Christmas biggrin very excited to start doing other mechanicy bits woohoo
Along with doing some engine work and sorting out the dash board, fitting dials etc I should be kept busy for at least the next 6 months or so, and allow me to save up for the next bits...

How you getting on now, is your chassis finished yet?

Nearest wheel I've found to the 'originals' other than the Moto-lita which at £270 I felt was a little pricey and if the forum is to be believed still isn't 'original'.

Not done anything for about a month due to work and holiday to Florida.
Also need to order some more steel tubing, I've run out.

Did pick up my heater/AC unit while out there though

Good work though, it's looking really good. Hope mine looks half as good!

Holliday in Florida, wish you had said wink I've just ordered a set of pistons from the states.

That AC looks just like the one SGT supply not sure of the make but CBS do it too, it's about £1200 from SGT inc compressor, rad, condenser and connections etc, but I bet muuuch cheaper in the states though...
AC was something I was not originally going to go with as trying to do this on as tighter budget as possible but I think after discussing it with a few people it is not really an option but a necessity, so will have to bite the bullet.

We were uber-tight to the weight limits I'm afraid so no chance of anything else brought back. Had to fill my pockets with as much heavy stuff to get past the weigh in as it was. smile The two car seats alone were 20Kg which didn't help (got fed up paying ~£70 to hire a pair of nasty cheap car seats worth £40).

Unit is an ID-255 from Nostalgic AC, $299 (+7% sales tax and delivery) so works out at ~£210.
Will be about £50 for a condenser, £20 for a dryer and already have the compressor for the original engine.

Even if you don't "plan" on running AC it's not that much more to buy the heater unit with an AC evaporator in and run a couple of hard lines front to back so you can add it later. I'm not going to bother getting the AC working until the car is up and running but plan to have the basics installed.

Some helpful guides at http://nostalgicac.com/instructions including line sizes and layouts etc.
Also a relevant thread currently in the "Exterior, Interior, AC, & Trim" section of the forum.

Well the chassis is pretty much done now, just one inspection cover to be mounted on the N/S sill in the morning biggrin
Also fitted hand brake lever and I collect the peddle box next week which is the next bit for me to fit, not gonna go quite as quick as I hoped in the next six months though as Mrs hoonigan has her eye on a caravan which will end up using a fair chunk of my remaining build money rolleyes so I will be funding the build hand to mouth sooner than I thought, but on the bright side it will save me loads on not having to pay for holidays abroad wink
