Got another evening in the garage tonight and lmost got the rear right corner finished now, just got to drill out some of the holes and pop in the rivnuts then ready to screw it all together. I did nearly make a big mistake though, I had no idea the four lower panels were all meant to be removable and this morning I was quite content in the fact I was going to be Silkaflexing and riveting them all together: Luckily I decided to pop into SouthernGT and ask if I should cut the gear shift hole first, I was quickly informed that all these panels are held together with rivnuts and not glue and rivets! So a very close call and a lot of wasted effort savedthumbup

Anyway here are a few pics....

Note my bit of inspiration that keeps me going laugh

Looking really good. I'm half wishing I'd bought pre-cut panels now, does look loads easier.

Still not that it would have done me much good the amount I've modified it by now, that corner on mine currently looks like this!

Got a bit more done over the last couple of weeks, hope to get the rear finished off this week then it's just the front wheel arches and sills to do smash

Another solid three hours in the garage this evening and the rear is finished, finally starting to resemble a tub biggrin Really quite pleased with it so far and really enjoying the challenge, still lots of time for failure and loosing the will to live with it though whistle but so far so good...

Just got to finish the front panels next then on to wiring and pipe work, looking forward to hanging up the ruler and pen for a while!

The one killing my build is the nursery bills, I'd be lots further on without splashing all that lot out... good luck!

I feel that pain too, daylight bloody robbery shoot and they don't even teach them to weld rolleyes

Are you going to revival this year?

Mine are going to have an extra day each later this year, that's £400/month gone that could have gone on the car. frown
Welding's mostly just practice. Get them working on a 1/2 scale GT40. wink

Well progress has been slow due to mounting pressure to get the stairs and landing carpeted and the front garden finished rolleyes but I have done something and made a start on the from end..

Good news though I have the next two evening free as Mrs Hoonigan has plans so progress will be made! Not going to get too rivet happy though as have ordered some extra panels to cover the top section behind the dash that is normally fibreglass and I need to make sure they marry up ok.

See one of these in Lakeside House of Fraser car park today. What a sound it made.

I can't wait to see this.
