Hi everyone!

Finally got something worth posting about! Traded in my corsa and got an MR2, been searching for the perfect next car for a few months, looked at everything from Astra VXRs to 330CIs to RX8s, but with a new job I am slightly uneasy about getting a loan for anything expensive.

Yesterday I saw an ebay ad that said anything PX for a beauty of an MR2, so straight on the phone (was unlikely that many othr places would take a corsa C with bucket seats, alloys etc), he said he'd take that plus a tiny cash amount in exchange for the mr2.

So went to look at it last night and deposit was left! Picking her up on wednesday. biggrin

Still a tad sad I never got to finish the corsa, I had a 1.8 engine I was going to drop in her alongside loads of other performance goodies, coilovers, full cat back exhaust and eventully a turbo. I did want to see her on the track but she became a money pit and I got to the end of my tether with it.

So! The MR2, just had MOT and new cambelt, 100k on the clock, drives like a dream and is spotless inside and out. Still not sure how I got it quite so cheap!

Thats all for now! Don't have much planned for it, the obligatory PH sticker on the back and possibly a decent exhaust system + a remap.

Cheers

Shadow

Doh! Spending too much time around hot hatches methinks.

This is true, you will need a Apexi Power FC or other ECU. However, the turbo models are quite adaptive to mods so you can get away with good bhp gains without needing a remap - not sure about the n/a.

Looks good though, much better than the corsa!

N/a by the looks of it (no turbo engine cover, no half leather). Still 170bhp is still good fun.

Yes NA, wouldn't mind getting it to 200bhp, but I can't afford to spend a great deal on it at the moment. Hopefully later next year I'll be able to get some performance bits for it.

Maybe because the more sought after models are ones without sunroof's? For track purposes. ofc you could weld it up.

Nice car though mate. smile

Lovely jubbly! Seems a bit suspicious to take a Corsa for it though. Did you do a HPi? And decent mechanical eval??

Just a bit worried for you (probably unjustified though).

I'll be honest, went from a 1.4 Fiesta to my MR2, and it still blows my mind every time I drive it. Careful in this slick weather and low temps we've had though. Do not lift off the throttle on a quick roundabout, and keep an eye on the road for ice! These cars bite, evidently.

MOT'd less than a month ago, full history, went through every MOT certificate for the last 10 years and only ever had 1 advisery, which was a small chip in the windscreen. Always serviced at toyota garages etc. And cambelt fitted less than 100 miles ago.

Good choice mate!

You've been bitten by the bug now, once you have one MR car nothing else seems to do wink

Argh picking her up tonight! Have a feeling work is going to drag. Tempted to see if I can sneak off early biggrin (we're relatively quiet this time of year).

It's not, my MR2 Turbo was white on white. It looked fantastic but it was a pain in the arse to keep clean!
