Glad you are finally enjoying the car and getting it the way you want it. Do you have a link to the leather dye? I fancy some of that for my boxster.

Well, early signs are good. No smoke on start up, no smoke after a spirited drive and even managed 29.5 mpg on the way back from Stockton to South Shields. The mechanic changed all of the breather pipes from the crackshaft up, as well as fitting a new AOS which seems to have done the trick.

It'll take a few weeks or so until I regain the confidence to start enjoying the car but hats off to the mechanic who has had a lot on as well as my car and certainly knows his stuff.
Just dug out this thread from the archives biggrin
I wonder if you still have the car? I'm tentatively looking at a 996 in the near future so taking tips and info from where I can.

I wonder - did you get the work done at Nelson Porsche. The unsuccessfully carried out work on my 944 many moons ago and vowed I would never go back.
Anyway hope you had fun with the car after the work was carried out. thumbup
