E46 M3 Project

That's a lot of time for you to change your mind! Gutted you're selling, are you making room for another project...?
It may not sell anyway because at that price its in a very limited market: someone who is willing to pay top money for a top condition car, and also who wants it in this spec. I may have to put it under a sheet for a few years until they become rarer still, but I'd rather avoid doing so.I will have a classic restoration at some point and I want to finish the Fiesta, but for now the F430 is all the car I need.

While I can understand that an F430 is all the car someone would ever need I'm gutted to see this e46 disappearing. For mere mortals with humble incomes - like me - the e46 seems a bit more within reach than an F430. Personally I wouldn't buy it as it's just too nice to drive and I don't buy cars to store, I use them. I'm still watching your threads obviously. Maybe you should think about a different kind of a project with an engine transplant. Like I don't know something crazy like an e46 with a corvette engine.

I have been thinking A LOT about an e46 with an LS3... I'd love MWS do one but I don't think the lazy engine is his bag!?While I can understand that an F430 is all the car someone would ever need I'm gutted to see this e46 disappearing. I agree with ATM. I couldn't stand the prospect of having a car just for having it in storage. That's why I really don't understand why you removed all the protection from under the car in a country where it rains more than it doesn't.
All that said, I love your projects! Keep posting them here for our viewing pleasure! :P

Haha - I only really use my Golf in all weathers; the others are kept for ‘best’. Of course this isn't really viable if its an only car All that said, I love your projects! Keep posting them here for our viewing pleasure! :P

You see. Why drive around in a Golf? You should think about getting something which you can use all the time instead of the golf.
My parents and their neighbours say the same thing I like the Golf though, it's a really good car. I actually enjoy driving it and it's of a value that releives me of worry when leaving it in London. I have been thinking about a CLK63 AMG, but that will be next year.mwstewart said:

My mate offered me his for 3500 this week. I said No.
Even the old W208 shape go for £7k if decent, and £4k if high miles, and a W209 facelift like I had - which is very rare - still change hands for over 15k.You should have bitten his hand off and made some easy profit.

And that Ladies & Gentleman, is precisely the reason I drive a golf daily as well. S2000 & Skyline GT-R for better days. The e46 though.. shove it under a dust cover, don't give it to someone else - you will forever regret it. The engine in these is one of the greats.
